There are some good tips here, but it is all too easy to get into debt if we're not really disciplined. Some people don't even manage to pay off the debt of one Christmas before over-spending on the next! Being realistic and sensible might sound boring, but its the best way to avoid stress over finances, even if it does mean going without or cutting down.
