No shoes, no shirt, no service. That means you, baby. Do you think Burger King was right to eject 6 month old Kaylin? Take the poll.

That is ridiculous! They're babies, and I'm pretty sure they're cleaner than most of the people working in that restaurant!

This baby would not be walking around, so I don't see why there was a problem. What a stupid place. Thanks Baebcat.

No shoes, no shirt, no service. That means you, baby.

A six-month-old infant was told that she and her little piggies had to stay home. At least, they couldn't show themselves at Burger King in Sunset Hills, Mo.

The child, her mother and grandmother were told to leave because the manager said the little girl's bare tootsies posed a "health hazard," according to a report by Fox News in St. Louis.

Mother Jennifer Frederich said she told the restaurant manager that little Kaylin's feet are clean, since she's too young to walk or do anything that could get them dirty. The whole thing was mystifying, she said.

What brought the family to the fast-food joint was an outing of about two dozen members of their church youth group, who were heading to Rock the River, a Christian concert, under St. Louis' Gateway Arch, when they stopped off.

Frederich said she tried to put socks on Kaylin to placate the manager, but he still threatened to call the police. Everyone ate quickly and left, she said.

"I think they [Burger King staffers] need to understand it's a baby," she said. "They're not going to be walking around in their dirty, nasty feet."

No one at the local Burger King nor the corporate headquarters would comment on the incident. Frederich said that even if wanted to comply she couldn't since she hasn't purchased any shoes for her infant daughter yet.

So, what is the right age to put shoes on a child?

SUNSET HILLS, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com) - There was an apology Wednesday for a mom and baby told to leave a restaurant because the baby was not wearing shoes. A spokeswoman said workers at the Sunset Hills Burger King took the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" policy too far. The restaurant's owner asked the pair to come back for the "royal treatment", including free food.

Burger King was even taking it a step further.

Customer Jennifer Frederich said workers told her she, her "shoeless" 6 month old daughter, Kaylin, and Kaylin's grandmother, would have to leave the restaurant Sunday because Kaylin wasn't wearing shoes.

Frederich said the manager told her it was a health code violation, so they ate hurriedly and left.

Burger King spokeswoman, Denise Wilson, admitted health codes do not include a "no shoes, no shirt, no service" provision; it's simply store policy.

She issued a statement saying, "Our franchisee apologizes for this guest's experience. The franchisee is retraining his restaurant team on the proper use of the "no shoes" policy...The franchisee is also contacting the guest to apologize".

Frederich told FOX 2 she didn't think all this was necessary; she hoped no one would lose their job over it; still, she appreciated Burger King's response.

YIKES !! One can only wonder what kind of "ROYAL TREAMENT" the Frederich's will receive ... !!!!!!!

Very Silly...happy to hear there was an apology! Here in Canada, we have the BK Veggie Burger and also a Veggie Whopper so that us veggies can eat here with our friends who have not yet made the change to a less harmful diet! Thanx for the funny post Barb!!!

Thanks Barb. I agree the restaurant was taking it to far, especially since the mom offered to put socks on right away. I'm glad there was an apology as well. We dont have BK in this area so it's easy to boycott :) but I found Ramona's information interesting; shows these resutaurants are starting to take note of "other preferences"!

This is as stupid as asking a family to leave a restaurant for nursing a baby. The same rules do not apply to INFANTS as to adults or older children.
