it's just unbelievable that any kid can stick with a project for two straight years, let alone with an alcoholic father, along with the constant threat and reality of evictions.

This young lady has endured much at such a young age.
My heart goes out to the Garvey Family.
May this Prestigeous award carry her onward to a brighter life.

Thank you Barb

I'm so elated for her!

Maybe that's why the politicians are pullling all of these dumb stunts. The 99% may have the 99% of intelligence???

It sure would be different if instead of money, money, money.....any candidate seeking high office must prove to have spent a few years in poverty. You know, something like Abraham Lincoln.

However, there's one hitch. People with inteligence and without the need for ego strokes aren't about to run?

I have seen her on tv a couple times. What a sweet heart of a girl she is. She deserves this as much as anyone. God bless her and her family. A story that goes to show good things do happen to good people.
