Was surprised about the Dugongs being eaten...

One specie has already gone extinct because they were hunted... The Steller's Sea Cow
and leaves the Florida Manatees left.

These creatures are dwindling in numbers as the years go by...

A great cause to help wonderful marine life. I wish I knew how to start a petition. In any case, I say again: Stop eating meat (and fish). We can survive without it and certainly our planet will benefit from being vegetarian.

Noted and Shared. I find this very tragic! Many of these animals are highly endangered as well as being highly intelligent! Roseann has made a very good point. If we don't educate people on the importance of marine mammals to our marine ecosystems and if we don't end this practice that many will become extinct just as the stellar sea cow! I wonder about the Ganges River dolphin- how close is he to extinction? It said that he was so rare that some doubt their existence. We also need to educate people on the importance of reducing the human population for if we don't we will lose almost all other species on this planet and that is irrevocable! The question is can we educate all of these people who seem to be so oblivious to conservation and to adopting different attitudes before we run out of time?

Nothing alive is safe from humans. I think that the old film "Soylent Green" should be shown in all schools...we've just about reached that point. TU BarbCat.

Has anyone here seen "The Cove" about dolphin slaughters in Taiji Japan..it's worth a look, we are trying to stop this practice and the more people we have, the better. There are petitions for this exact issue..probably under slaughter.
