Sandlin's permit has expired so why is he is still allowed to keep Tony? My Mama used to say; 'something smells fishy in Denmark' whenever something didn't seem quite right to her. Well, 'something definitely smells fishy in Louisiana....'

It breaks my heart that something had not been done a long time ago to get this tiger away from those unfit to look after tigers/animals ..! May something positive finally happen.

WTH?!!! I thought a court had already handed down the decision to move him months ago, (and they even named the sanctuary, though i can't remember the name right now}.

I remember all of us woohooing it up to, sharing here and on other sites the good news. And now this?!
I even remember that POS owner posting a petition on care2 using very selective wording that tricked people into signing under false pretenses.
Well, as bad as this stinks, i guess we need to once again get the appropriate contact info and bury their butts in emails and petitions yet again...

Sorry Tony, we didn't know my friend, :-(

You can count on me and my Italian Friends on FB, too.
Thank you Barb

If people truly cared about Tony they would have helped move him to the back area on Michael's property with the money spent attacking him. If ALDF truly cared about "Real" animal cruelty why is Tony a healthy 11 year old tiger that does not need rescued a greater concern to them than the barbaric practices going on at the facility who is after Tony? A facility that proudly displays, tortures and kills Live domestic rabbits, turkeys and rats by throwing them into big cat cages to be torn apart alive? Why is ALDF - who's mission statement "Abuse an Animal Go To Jail" also supporting and working side by side with this facility?

ALDF can you please share your Expert references on tigers with the public? Are the law students experts? Are the "Movie Stars" who give you publicity experts on exotics, or the facility you work side by side with that has a high death rate of big cats and a poor success rate of released rehabbed bobcats? ALDF, Where exactly are you "Freeing" Tony to? A smaller cage away from his bonded human and family where he will most likely become depressed and possibly put down for not adjusting?

It is my opinion this high profile case is made of hatred and agendas and for all the wrong reasons and everyone involved is exploiting Tony and profiting from it. You should all be very proud of trying to destroy this Tiger and his owner. How disgraceful- Sadly & Shamefully the money and efforts spent here, could have made a difference for Thousands of animals who are really abused, animals that are dying or will die never having a chance for life or to know love from another animal or human. I believe this shows everyone exactly who is truly interested in the welfare and rescue of abused animals.

I sure hope that the judge has at least half a brain(You know judges these days) will have the common sense that a tiger has NO purpose caged at a truck stop as a zoo would at least give him more room than this stupid contraption. But a sanctuary is where he needs to be to be rehabilitated to re enter the wild of his natural habitat!

Reputable sanctuaries? Those are truly far and few between and are commonly referred to as SCAMTUARIES. Many hide their privately owned animals under there 501c(3) tax shelter umbrella while receiving tax benefits and free monies from donations to support their pets. Many others are actually animal hoarders of a different nature and therefore are always collecting more animals. Take a good luck, research their Directors, do timelines on animal acquisitions and deaths.

IF you think RESCUES are safer than privately owned exotic animals; you are have more faith than common sense. Most rescues are owned and operated by people who bred or had these exotics as pets. They are credentialed only by organizations that were created to give you the donors an illusion that they have regulations and standards. THIS IS THE BIG LIE: One sanctuary has no perimeter fence and they are accredited by two of these organizations this is one of the most obvious non-compliance with the USDA's Animal Welfare ACT - it is a violation and they shouldn't be in operation! AZA, and other accrediting organizations receive tax benefits and are considered lobby groups to support their positions with our government. They are NOT A REGULATORY agency.

So big deal that Tony doesn't have a pool; for those who do not know about Tigers here is lesson 1: They will defecate and urinate in the pool water; so what may have been clean water in the morning is by afternoon a filthy mess and not healthy for the animal. Many of the southwestern and western states have water concerns so misting is a viable and affordable alternative than a pool. Geography lesson 1: There are many states in the west, southwest and midwest that the landowners do not own water rights; so they have to pay $$$ to have water shipped in or pay for water use. This can be extremely costly depending upon the amount of water usage; so those 100+ gallon pools that have to be emptied and refilled are not cost effecitve either. This applies not only to private owners, but it also includes sanctuaries.

There are rescues that want specific breeds only and turn away additional animals. For one rescue to have 4 usable acres and wanting to add more to their collection is not healthy for the animals nor the environment.

Want to help Tony? Then support keeping him where he has a lot of natural activity and enrichment and assist in building him a new home where he lives now.

Tony deserves to have a life where he has more freedom and more like the setting that he should have lived out his life in from the beginning! I hope that he is soon placed in a very good and reputable sanctuary! But I do wonder why this man is allowed to keep Tony without a permit and I wonder why the judge has issued a temporary order against moving Tony. It should be so clear that this man is in violation of not having a permit and he shouldn't have ever been given one in the first place, so the tiger should be removed from those premises now and given to a credible sanctuary which would be a much better place than a truck stop, where he is smelling gas fumes all day long and not even remotely at all like the environments that tigers need!

Barb, as we say down here....it's the 'Good Ol Boy' syndrome. Those who are connected pretty much get away with donig what they want...or what they don't want to do. I hate it. Tony should be at a sanctuary by now.

Thanks Barb for the update on Tony, if wishes were horses he would be in a sanctuary now not at a truck stop, all we can do is hope that the Tony gets the best outcome of this whole affair, people shouldn't fight about it, they should just band together and do what is right for the Tiger, not themselves.

It never ceases to amaze me, that you people believe all the AR bullshit lies that you are spoon fed, and by the looks of some of your comments most of you don't understand THE LAW and how it works. And in the end, when & if Tony has to be relocated, it won't be to that scamtuary in FL.
