WOW! if one gets stressed and gets an upper respitory infection, its gonna spread like wildfire..HOW or IS she making sure they all have their shots and flea stuff (if thats an issue there..)...if she has the money, then she should get a huge piece of property for them to roam but even then, cats can be territioriial! I HOPE they are all fixed!! Gotta give her credit for having A HUGE HEART though! THATS a hoarding situtation and i bope the authorities are aware. Thanks Barb. :)

I heard on the radio this being discussed and the man said when he'd open the bedroom door the bed would be covered with cats...he said "the bed moved." He waited long enough...550 cats. well perhaps he'll be happier as will she (having what she might really want, the cats)
I was in a relationship, the man came into knowing I had ONE cat and then when setled in complained about the cat...guess who got kicked to the curb? Wasn't the cat!!1 :)

550 is not fair to the cats - way too crowded. Cats need attention - how can one person give it to that many?

On a more practical note - how can one person afford to feed and care for that many cats?

The most cats I ever had at one time was 7. But 5 of those were kittens who were mostly looked after their mother. Then after weaning, we found homes for 2 kittens, took 2 kittens to the SPCA, and kept the runt. Yes, we had the mother spayed! My other cat just ignored the whole thing, as did our 2 dogs.

But 550 cats are beyond too many. And I thought an acquaintance of mine was an awful hoarder for having 42 guinea pigs...

550 - can't be health for either humans or cats. At what number will she realize that many cats is overwhelming? Really, couldn't she have set up a cat shelter, rather than have them all in her home?

Or Kye, she is a hoarder.I lived with abut 20 one time because people kept bring them and I could not d that again. How does one take care of 550 cats? Not easily or well I am guessing. I love cats but there has to be limits for the sake of the cats. I hope this does not end badly for the cats.

Nobody can even come close to caring for that many cats. Also, if one cat gets sick, they probably all will. This is certainly not healthy at all on so many levels.

Hope she is able to care for the cats and they are spayed and neutered. I would have thought that was too many, but there is a lady in California that has 500 and they are all well cared for. She is featured on this website occassionally.

WOW.. I love, love, love cats. And that's exactly why that would be too many cats: it'd be impossible to deliver the love, attention, affection, grooming, petting, etc etc that every kitty needs and deserves... when you have that many!

And, uh, what about the stink? Yikes.
