My beloved Lucky passed over two months ago from spleen cancer and I miss her every day. She was the inspiration behind Animal Fair Media, my wing dog, best friend and puppy love of my life.

My boy "Bear Bear" who was a manx cat, died of Cancer, I had him for 10 years. He has been gone for 7 years now. He was full of Cancer and I saw no symptoms till it was much too late! I think of him often and miss him terribly!

Thnx so much for posting this sweetie!!

Thank you so much sweetie for posting this! One thing Excessive Thirst can also be a tip off for a dog being diabetic! I found that out with my Scarlett ~ caught her drinking a lot and the vet said you have eyeballs on your dogs.

#9 sadly is what happened to my Springer...only 8yrs and stopped eating. After doing everything possible (Kinda went EXTREME), won't ever put a dog through that again and my girl was so special I stopped eating after I decided she was weak and had to be put down with all of the veins in her legs gone due to all of the treatments, broke my heart to have put her through that and she was so loving and still hurts me to think I did all of the treatments to keep her around. Learned a lesson a very hard way...Money wasn't an issue in 1990 for me and spending over $25,000 for her care in just two months didn't make a bit of difference to me.

What is important for people to know is that when they find out that their Best Friend has Cancer not to do blood transfusions, cancer treatments and put their FRIEND through misery let them go, it is the most giving thing you can do for your best friend. Do what you can, but we all need to know when to let go of THE LOVE and Best Friend We have had for so long...

Still hurts my heart no end...My Springerlee...Typing with tears...

Cher...So sorry you also had to deal with this type of loss...I think most of these new issues with our pets are due to pest control, food, cause when I grew up my Cocker Spaniel lived to be 16 and never had anything wrong...Now days there are so may ailments it is horrific.

My Sheba had a sore on her foot which worsened. It was a squamous cell tumor found usually in the mouths and feet of cats and dogs. After removing only a toe, I had the joy of her company for 2 more years til she was 17! Thanx Barb Don't wait if your pet has something unusual going on...

PLEASE!!!! Don't wait 1 FULL yr. to have your pet examined!!! He/she should be examined at least 3 or 4 x a year and especially if they have have long, thick, fur!!!! Thnx everyone for your comments!!! So glad I posted!!!! BTW, years ago when I lived in SC my two girl cats Ezzie & Coco were covered in fleas so my attendant and I went up the hill to Ingle's grocery store; I actually drove my electric wheelchair and Coco raced up the hill and met me at the entrance to Ingle's while Lynne, my aide, parked her car. Long story short, we found flea collars that said 'for small animals' but did not indicate cat or dog...out of desperation I bought them, had Lynne put the collars on the girls, 2 hours later, Ezzie's motions were frozen in place, her eyes glassed over. I called Lynne who came over but while I waited I called the vet who said to bring her in....Ezzie had to stay overnight...meanwhile, Coco's next motions were also frozen in place so when Lynne returned, she had to take Coco in. Both my girls spent the night at the animal hospital but Lynne got them out the next day, they were both fine and were given the proper flea collars for cats, their size, and their weight. The next day, Ezzie came to give me some love, walked out the door and never returned. I believe she went to the big field behind the apartments to die.... my Sweet Baby Princess Ezzie-Wezzie died, please don't think I don't understand what it's like to lose a pet. She may not've had Cancer, and she may not've died yesterday, but the pain I feel, is still raw and fresh....as if it were just yesterday....
