I understand how tight money is for everyone this time of year, with Christmas just around the corner, but Juno is a very sick German Shepherd service dog for a young man who suffers with 'Sanfilippo Syndrome' and he loves Juno so much. She helps him in so many ways. If you could donate even $1 it would go a long way to help. Thank you so much for your consideration.

Sorry, I don't know how to make links active, but according to this link: http://www.wate.com/story/19838446/alcoa-boy-reunited-with-his-sick-service-dog

Juno is much better now & she's back home. From story:

ALCOA (WATE) - An Alcoa boy's service dog is back home after being treated at a local vet.

The happy reunion between Lucas Hembree and Juno took place Tuesday night.

Lucas, 5, has a rare genetic disorder called Sanfilippo Syndrome. He needs Juno by his side. Over the weekend the dog became violently ill and was rushed to the vet.

Because the Hembrees are already struggling with Lucas' medical bills, the Blount County SPCA stepped in to raise money to treat Juno. East Tennesseans have opened their hearts and wallets. So far, over 150 people have donated and nearly $5,000 has been raised.

His mother, Jennifer Hembree, is grateful for all the support and to be a family again. "It was a homecoming, you would call, waiting to happen. Wish that it didn't happen so long, but I'm glad to have her back. Our family is complete again."

Lucas and his mom had a surprise in the works. Lucas's father didn't know Juno was coming home Tuesday until they showed up at the door.

The Blount County SPCA is still accepting donations on its website.

I called the vet's office number listed in the chip in & they told me that she's doing well now & they've had alot of calls about her. I wanted to give an update so that everyone wouldn't be worrying to death about her. If I find that anything has changed, I'll post it here.

Noted! This is very sad but there is treatment for this aliment and as a service dog there should also be no problem in treating this poor dog as this dag is literally an extension of this boy and it is just the same as if the boy were sick. they are pure extensions of each other!

Glad Juno is on the mend. However what an indictment of the USA in that the parents have to find the money to pay for Lucas' treatment. He should come to Canada where we know how to look after our own.

Juno is back with her family! If that poor dog ate any chicken jerky from China and got sick from that, they should sue the store that keeps selling that product. ( I know, they may never know how Juno got so sick...)

so glad this boy and his dog are reunited-i truely believe that dogs are not only mans best friend, but at times angels as well. My dog helped me so much when i had a terrible back injury, i would lay in bed and who was always at my side-by sweet Buddy-I will never forget how he was there for me,just like this dog is here for this sweet little boy.

I remember last xmas sending a card to Lucas and Juno,as he was so unwell his family had asked people from all around the world to send a xmas greeting to help cheer Lucas up. That story and the incredible pictures of him together with Juno were some of the most touching photos, that dog loves that little boy soooo much you could just see it in his eyes ,and vice versus. I am sending all my love to the Hembree family and especially to Juno who is such a godsend. I hope Juno gets better real quick,so i hope they read these post and perhaps knowing how much love and support there is out there for them al the way from Australia....GET WELL SOON JUNO.

The chip in for Juno has ended. From what all I've been reading, Juno has passed the crisis. If you want to follow how Lucas & Juno are doing, there's a Prayers for Lucas Facebook page. I believe that this is the link:
