the video only said the driver accidently hit the gas pedal instead of the break. i wonder if age had anything to do with it. while i do believe that everyone looses their ability to drive well at different ages, we need to start looking at the stats and see if MAYBE there should be an age limit.

Oh my goodness, that was an extremely close call for that little one! I have to agree with Leslie, perhaps a close examination needs to take place with the DOT Vehicle Licensing Dept to see if there should be an age limit. I am really glad no one was injured. I can only imagine the fear and surprise the little child must have felt.

Everyone should be retested every 5 yrs for a driver's license-Lives would be saved and revenue for the state made.

Noted. Thank you Barb for posting the video. So happy that no one was hurt! At 84 yrs, driving skills are and reactions are just not the same. I remember when my Dad, at 82 was told by his Doctor that he could only drive if someone with a licence was with him. He even went to take a driving test and was told no, the doctor had it posted with the Licence Bureau, he wanted to try another place to be tested and was being stubborn about it. He went out every morning - driving alone - for breakfast. I told him his insurance would not cover him, or anyone he might hit, or other vehicle - his response was "My insurance is paid up". I prayed lots for him, and for myself when I went down to visit and drove with him. His driving was terrible. Here in Canada you have to get a new licence every 5 years, and at 82 or it could be sooner, if doctor reports seizures, or fainting spells, you have to take the whole test to see if you qualify for a licence.

Oh my dear. O_O I just saw the video. Thank God the little boy wasn't hurt - or anyone else for that matter. I agree that every person age 70 or 80 up should be retested every 5 yrs for a driver's license.
