You have to like what NYPD Officer Larry DePrimo did for a barefoot man in Manhattan one frigid night this month. In fact, more than 260,000 Facebook users have "liked" DePrimo's actions, a number that's growing every day.

Wow, just think how much we could help such poor people if each person did such an act of kindness for these people so much less fortunate than we. I give them money for food whenever I see them while on the way to a doctor appointment, etc. We all have something we can give them, even if it is something we no longer use and they need, like coats, sweaters, blankets, shoes, socks, etc. Thanks, my friend for showing what a hero like Mr. DePrimo can do. Maybe we can join him and make life better for one living in misery on the streets ---"-There, but for fortune, goes you and I" --- that song always made an impression on me.

Hopefully, people of NYC will help this homeless man get to a shelter or get him some other program to provide him a home. It looks like the homeless man needs gloves and a coat.

Sorry, folks, there aren't any rotten tomatoes to throw on Care2.

I'll 'fess up, whenever I see police officers, firemen, soldiers, paramedics, etc., I usually say, "Thank you for all you do for us

They like it like that.

Very sweet to see the cop actively helping make a difference in this man's life. If only more people actually made that step past thinking of something that could help and just actually doing it.

What a great bloke. He goes some way to making up for all those other gun toting cops who have been shooting dogs. All Police Forces need men and women like this man - then perhaps the Police will have more respect within the general community.

This is a beautiful story to share with everyone! This police officer exemplifies the qualities of what it really means to be a human being- showing compassion for others by doing kind deeds. Every day we are confronted with so many stories of people who have seem to have forgotten what it really means to be human and instead of helping others, they cause others pain and even harm. If we all practiced random acts of kindness to others as officer DePrimo did, we would all benefit from living in a kinder world and what a wonderful message to send to our children! Thank you BarbCat for such an inspiring story.

"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never - send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
- John Donne
