Can the essence of your dog reincarnate and return to you during the same lifetime? Stranger things have happened!

I believe that animals can reincarnate as themselves. The most astounding story in this article was about a dog named Friend who always comes back with a 'B' on her bottom!

I absolutely believe that animals have souls like us, and reincarnate just like us too. Thank you BarbCat.

There are things that cannot be explained, and this is one of them. Wish the furbaby I had 20 years ago would come visit me...come to think of it...all of them. That would be wonderful, don't you think?

I have had no experience with it, but it would be great if it were so, and I could experience it with my beloved pets. Thanks, Sweetie

I had a wonderful cat named aviva who lived to be 19 but had to be put to sleep because she had cancer of the mouth. She hated our vet and would go wild whenever we took her there or if the vet came near her outside even. Two months later I adopted a female cat named May who was two months old (!). She immediately hated the same vet and screams blue murder if I take her there for any check up or shots. If the vet comes to visit me (she is one house away) May spits at her. The vet is sure that Aviva told May something but I think May is the reincarnation of Aviva...

Thank god there are people who also believe that animals do come back.My beloved border collie died 5 years ago and whilst I was grieving and crying my eyes out I asked my guardian angels if he would ever come back to me.For some unexplained reason I had like a thought that he can't come back right now because he is helping someone else.So during the following year I looked at other dogs but it never felt right regardless of how nice they were. Then I day I met my current dog ,her owner did not want her anymore and after I spend time with her I felt that he has send her into my life to be my companion until he was able to come back.I do believe that one day we will be together again. Thank you Barb for sharing this topic and giving me hope because how can I be mad if there are other people from other parts of this world who believe in this.

it depends on how you view reincarnation. from what I hear, sometimes one moves up. if a soul reincarnates as a dog again, it means they did not learn what they needed to learn as a dog. it's like being held back in 2nd grade.

I like to think my critters didn't, only reason is I hope I am going to critter heaven where we meet up once again.
I really couldn't handle thinking about them coming back to this backwards world. Make sense?

I don't believe this is nuts--not at all. After my beloved cat died, I had butterflies and birds come near me in the yard. Is it reincarnation or is it a compassion and understanding by other creatures? I wish there was a group on this subject. I would like to be in touch with other compassionate souls who believe in such small miracles. Rest in peace, my beloved cat. I miss you.

I REALLY hope I will see all my beloved animals again. I think animal reincarnation could be possible. I would at least love to see them in the afterlife. Thanks for posting Barb!

I pray to God that he allows animals to comeback to life, because a lot of them never had a chance to live or others lived a very sad life being abused or living very little time to be fatten up just to be killed so that people can eat them!

Although I have lost respect for Shirley MacLaine, I loved the paragraph "Once while I was talking with actress Shirley MacLaine, she told me a story. She was on a flight across the Atlantic and noticed that there was a fly perched on the window beside her. As she rolled up a magazine with the intention of swatting the fly, Prime Minister Nehru of India, who was sitting next to her, said, Dont do that. It might be your grandmother. Shirley told me that when she heard him say that, she paused, thought about it and, of course, did not swat the fly."
Definitely reincarnation as well as Law of Karma is true. We must be cautious and on guard constantly to avoid harming any beings while we are invited guests here on this planet. Eating organic veg'n diet is critical to our spiritual progress ,as is meditation within the soul in place of focusing exclusively on the material illusion surrounding us while we are here. All beings are also on this same path and it is our duty to allow them to freely move along it.

I'm not sure about reincarnation, but if it happens to us, then why not our animal companions or just animals in general. But I'd rather believe that animals would go to a better place then back here, they've been through enough in their lives with us here.

Good one Barb, I believe in a life after death. I believe we are all made of the same staff, all of us. Animals included. 99 percent of this world is made of unseen energy. The human eye is not able to see it all. Only 1% is made of what we see material. Life after death is for me logical., makes sense to me. We are all one and science is catching up with this. Slow process but they are catching up.

Oh yes adding to that, our essence is energy, energy never dies, the question for me is not if it happens or not, more of a how it works and what happens exactly.

I too believe !! When I was a child, I was given a sweet silky terrier pup for my tenth birthday and had him until I was 27. Some 25 years on, I went to to a local shelter and found my Cindy who I have sworn was my little silky returned to me. True or just wishful thinking??????

I most definitely believe its possible. For those wishing your pets would come back to visit, do you ever have dreams with them in it? I feel that when I do, its my former pets coming by to "check in" with me and say hi.

I definitely believe in reincarnation! I had a dog named Monty who I believe came back in the soul of one of my present dogs, Herbie! He really has the same disposition, the same behavioral idiosyncrasies, and I swear he has Monty's eyes! Before Monty was a dog, I believe he was a philosopher because he gave me so much wisdom about love, learning to let go, forgiving, and living in the now! I believe animals can come back in human form too, just as I believe humans can come back in animal form! Great post BarbCat.

My thoughts are along the same lines as Buffys..
While i to believe in reincarnation, many don't.

But no one can argue about the existence of energy, that of which every living thing is composed of.

And who knows, maybe that exact spit second "life" starts with the creation of a single or even partial cell, it also "absorbs" and becomes one with a mass of energy that no longer inhabits a living "shell".

Yesterday, I was thinking about the animals I've known who have crossed the rainbow bridge, and now I see your post Barb! I'm going to think about them in this context now :)
