The surgeons at Duke University Medical Treatment allowed JJ, the Service Dog, in the Operating Room with his young Mistress, KK.

Great video. I hope they disinfected the operating room very well after the girl was out of surgery to remove anything the dog might have left behind. Thanks for sharing, Barb.

This is great. The disinfecting of the room is minor in comparison to what could have happened if the dog weren't there.

This is absolutely incredible, I know canines have a superior sense of smell and also can sense a human master's distress.
I just love dogs. After my last dog died in my arms after his loyal partnership with me (Pomeranian) . I never wanted a dog again. Prinz was so dear to me, my best mate for almost 18 years, it so depressed me. My daughter stepped in, Dad u need another dog and let me hold a rat sized critter to soften me.
I obliged and said yes to my dear daughter, as time went on I became the day care centre and sleep overs occurred more often. After 2 years he is huge and almost grown up, it is a Rottweiler and he is my best mate. He also knows when to suck up to me or when I am down to treat me carefully.
But there is comfort when waking up in the morning with his head on my neck.

Humans carry a few bacteria themselves, especially humans who are cut open and bleeding. I should hope it's standard practice to disinfect the OR thoroughly after EVERY time it is used.
