'Caturday in the Park! I think it was the 4th of July...!' came to me as I wrote this up. BTW, according to my computer, I'll only earn 3 butterfly credits for leaving this comment. Talk about what the what?

It depends on the cat, it's familiarity with other cats;

A cat can be terrified when it is forced to invade other cat's territories.

Do leave your cat at home.

Do leave your cat at home. But you can do some of those things (like dance with your cat) at home, if you have tht kind of relationship with your cat. Maybe I'm confusing Cat with Dog. What a funny post. Thank you.

Perhaps San Francisco's Caturday is really for the human "cool cats" of Beatnik fame . . . cats referring to the human hipsters. I don't know but if I lived in San Francisco, you wouldn't even catch me there. Too many people.

Barb, when I post articles, I have always received 20 credits for my first comment. I just posted a bunch yesterday and received my points. What I have found though, where I used to get 3 points for posting and 20 for a comment, I no longer get the 3 points for my post, only for noting new submissions of others. Perhaps a good question for Eric at Care2 Support.

I'm sure it was just a 'glitch' thank you for commenting Lynn :)

You get 20 points per comment for your first 10 comments of the day. Then it stops until the next day.

I would never do that to my cat. My cat would be terrified.

The cat has nothing to do on an arragement like this so I hope no one take them down to the park. Meet other cat-people and have a great day!
Thank You Barb.

Cats would be terrified, keep them home and meet up with other people that love cats.

How that neighborhood has changed since the 60's. That's my High School in the background. I would never take my cats outside on a leash.

I have had one cat in my life who would tolerate a leash. ALL others (many) looked at me as if I had a brain tumor, basically asking "WTF? You're kidding, right?" Really - the timid cats just hunker down and the less timid look like they have finally decided you no longer deserve to live.

"What I have found though, where I used to get 3 points for posting and 20 for a comment, I no longer get the 3 points for my post, only for noting new submissions of others."

There are some limitations too. You only get the 20 points for the first 10 comments on the Story side of the site, but you also can get another 200 for noting 10 stories on the Causes side of the site. And, if you visit every day, you get butterfly's for that too, it tops out at 100 but stays there indefinitely, so if you can manage that, even just to click refresh, then click one item in your in box, you'll get the daily 100. I think that's cool because though I don't always, or even often, have time to get to both sides, I do manage to grab the 100 by visiting daily for even a few minutes. All worth it in the end for what you can do with them. :^)

I would not take a cat to this event. Unless it was a show cat used to these things;

Lol on the article. I used to put my cat on a leash to take him outside. He acted like gravity had just increased about 800%, crouching as he slithered around the kitchen. Once he got outside, he did like the backyard though.

Ha ha ha. So clever and tongue in cheek. Sounds like a reason to go visit the park--"do leave your cat at home" and just tell him/her about it. Thanks Barb.

An interesting article and cats are all individuals, so what one cat enjoys another cat will not.
