The greatest opportunity to give people the right to know if their food is genetically engineered will occur with the California ballot initiative - officially known as Proposition 37 - which is coming up for vote on November 6.(more)

> When Will Americans Have the Right to Know and Choose?
When will they, IF ever ? Who's to know, in U$A's capitalfa$cistic plutocrazy.
" These companies fight, tooth and nail, against labeling. The fast food industry fought against giving you the calorie information. They fought against telling you if there is trans-fat in your food. The meat packing idustry for years prevented country-of-origin labeling. They fought not to label genetically modified foods; and now 70% of processed food in the supermarket has some genetically modified ingredient. " -- Eric Schlosser in FOOD, Inc. (2008)
+ generally, the're fighting to deliberately keep consumers in the dark as to where food comes from and how it is produced, 'cause IF PEOPLE KNEW, THEY MIGHT NOT WANT TO EAT IT.

Living in California is not an issue. EVERYONE who eats needs to support Proposition 37. If it can't pass in California, we are all screwed. Big Ag is watching!

Well, I have news for all food producers-if it isn't labeled non-gmo I am not purchasing it-period and I will let them know in no uncertain terms that will always be the case. I suggest everyone that wants non-gmo labeling write to all the companies you prefer products from and tell them in no uncertain terms-if it isn't labeled as non-gmo, I will not purchase it. I will simply assume it contains gmo garbage and look for items proven to be non-gmo containing to replace it. If Prop 37 fails to pass-that is the best way to make a point and stick with it. Those companies that want to stay in business will quit using gmo crap or they will go broke and with any luck so will Monsanto and the rest of their evil crew. There are more of us than there are of them. We can say NO simply by refusing to risk items not labeled properly.
