Of course 12 year old girls are not really consided "children" in Afghanistan, but already married off to much older violent men watch http://www.rawa.us/movies/index.html who beat them, injure hem with knifes, even go as far as to cut off their ears, nose or toes ....

Live in Afghanistan - AFTER the LIBERATION

At least they are free, when they are beaten!

Tell me - why don't storries like this get the attention in the media they deserve. I never have heard about this in my part of the world.

Child rapes have risen sharply in recent years, according to Afghanistan’s Human Rights Organisation (AHRO), which claims most of the sexual assaults are carried out by government officials and other powerful men.

Which, of course, would never have happened at all
had Bushco not invaded the country for NO GOOD REASON!
I am so grateful I will not be in Bush's or Cheney's
shoes come Judgement Day: They have MUCH to answer for.

Thanks, Isabella,
and thanks to my dear friend Carole

The whole situation is deplorable over in Afghanistan. Rapes of little girls, babies, as young as 2 1/2, possibly younger, are gang raped. This is very disturbing and appalling... behaviors that are occurring in that country. Girls as young as 12, perhaps younger, are forced to be married and are expected to have sex and produce babies.

TY, Just C for forwarding and to Isabella for the article.

Princess *C* TY for the forward hon, & TY Isabella for making us aware of what is happening over there, I never knew either. I agree w/u when you say, why don't these stories get the attention that they so desperately need, for people to know what is going on over there.
I must agree with my friend Tim on this one. I would like to know if any of the sub human rapists there in Afghanistan ever heard of {i will say it a nice way} relieving themselves by their own hand? No, instead they choose to look for a helpless baby & very young children to abuse them and violate them in the worst manner possible. Because they can get away w/it, using force when a child is helpless. I will pray for these children who have no voice.
I must also say that a 12 year old girl is just that, a child still herself, being forced to marry & have children is taking away HER childhood!
And to the disgusting rapists...Instant karma's gonna get you, gonna knock you right on your face. Your pigs!

Blessings to all of our innocent children in the world,
FreeSpiritRunning...

Thank you Carol for forwarding ---- finally Annelies figured it out for me, why I could not send messages ---- anyhow totally unimportant in face of these hmmmm news???
News - well because it is NOT NEW - it has been going on and is still - maybe more maybe less - we never know.
I find the story is tied immediately to the self burnings of women in Afghanistan who are considered somewhat how should I say "sub human". the fact that educated, working women choose to rather set themselves on fire than endure one more day in their marriages should puzzle us all.
So what are girl-children?
i tell you what - a commodity - not more than DONKEY - but they are the only ones who can assure continuation of blood line (too bad a doneky can't) and they might settle family feuds or strengthen inter family ties (marriages between second cousins are not an exeption) - however even a good breeding donkey could achieve that to some extent.
So you see girls are not children, as someone said: "I have 3 children and 1 girl"...
Child rape is not considered something terribly wrong. It's like stealing candy from the sweet shop.

We need to empower those women. Help the ones who are couragious enough to bring to us these news - they even might fear death ..... just think ladies you would get the live beaten out of you because you talked to someone on the internet.
WE - not themselves have to insure and make certain the UN is protecting these women and their daughters. I am not calling for military action - we already messed them up for 2 to 3 generations comming.
I am talking with the empowerment of women: education, mini loans, financial independence - the right to divorce, fundamental humanitarian rights such as equality ....

WE HAVE TO HELP OUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS NOW!!

It is profoundly dismaying to me that large groups of people -- worldwide -- due to circumstances beyond their control (such as gender, country of origin, religion, racial background) are still doomed to a lifetime of abuse.

Thank you for this post Isabella, and for forwarding, Carole.
It makes me feel so sad, and angry that these things happen in Africa.
What you also need to know (although I don't approve) is that these people are desparate, because of the high rate of AIDS.
Since these people are made to believe, that having sex with very young girls might heel them, these kinds of rape is increasing by the day.

We live in a horable world !

Rape is an instrument that shatters a woman, especially in these eastern regions of the world. A woman's purity and dignity are denied her and though not of her own making, the deed throws her into Limbo. To perpetrate this henious crime on a child, robs both the mother and child of any future they might have envisaged for themselves. Its the way men, here, bring the women to their knees. Its nothing new. The foreign press is into this now and the world is getting to know these age old practices.

And those who do these things consider themselves men! As not to offend with what I truly think the perpetrators of these barbaric crimes should be called, I'll refrain and simply name them as the lowest of low of God's creations; who will hopefully be repaid in kind one day.

You know there really is still a chance for peace and that chance will definitely increase if we each do our piece. So let’s make peace -- in our homes, in our own hearts, in our relationships, in our communities, in all of our dealings and in the world. Peace be with us all.

So be it - Kim -

I am glad about the attention this post got - thanks to Carol and some friends ---

I am also glad that the natural reaction in favour of this Afghanistan children happens - that you want to protect them, nurture them and help them. Please get angry! Very angry and then take this anger and the energy this anger generates and PLEASE help RAWA to help themselves in their own country. You can make a difference.

Everet Jan - Yes Aids is an issue in Afghanistan - but more due to drug abuse than sexually transmitted. There is a news article on the very same site as the above article.
Drug abuse is taking huge porportions.

What is wrong with the men that they have to rape a baby and child or rape anyone? That is a detestable action, vile, shameful, and an abomination. Do they get pleasure out of hurting another human even a 2-½ child? They are sick and need to be placed in a cell with someone named Bubba. Give them a taste of what it’s like to be raped.

they do not consider women and children as people, to them they are property to do with as they please. hopefully, this population will kill itself off within the next few years. people that do not learn, change and grow die out.

War is not Healthy for Children and other living creatures............

We cannot end the War cycle by exposing children to endless examples of death. That must be why they do it, to keep the "Profits on Death Machine" rolling worldwide.

Noted, thank you Isabella and Carole for sending.

BRAVO SANDRA MZ - I agree 1000000% with you -

Laura Sierra - those civilazations are very old and no - they won't die out ..... the more pressure we put on them, waging war etc - the more they band together, revert to the ancient cruel ways. We achieve the oposite, sadly the US Goverment does not understand history of the ancient lands. Reform can only come in the way Alexander the Great had in mind - settling, infiltration - mixing of culture and blood. Change by example.

When a member of the US troops or UN troops rapes, kills or abuses just one local woman, child or animal - this counts for 1000. People are sent into countries they have no idea about.

Vietnam should have taught the US this lesson - but it has not. We the western world - us Europeans included for not succeeding in stopping this war have made the problem worse.
Believe it or not - but we are not liberating - we are enslaving, greating anarchy. This will get worse - much worse - before it gets better.

this is sooooo barbaric and those who call them self men of war and elements of government are turning new generation of locals into real fighthers of the government so the war would expand and never end ...they try to beat women dignity and pride by this savage and brutal actions so they would fear the government till death ,typical psychologicalimpact upon population that would not destroy children spirits only butwould breed terror into their self and substantialy the cycle get wider....
