At least the company isn't insisting that they NEVER make mistakes and having to be taken to court or publicly embarrassed to force them to admit it.

Had I opened the bill the EMT's would still be trying to revive me. Thanks Suzybell for the article. Read and gleefully noted.

I know mistakes are made (sometimes too often) but if I got hit with a bill like that I know the shock would make me want to hit the utility company with something else. ;)

I read about these errors every now and then and have a hard time understanding why they happen to just one person at a time when the victim is a long standing customer. You would think other customers would also be affected.

I could understand a new customer getting hit with a bill like this because some one may have made an input error but a long standing customer when there is no rate change???? It would seem to me someone had to be doing something to the record that they should not have been.

Those old time plug in female 'hysteria' devices are energy hogs, but who knew they were so durable?

Don't get a licence plate for your car with the word 'NONE' for the registration, you'll get hit with all the city parking tickets for unlicensed cars! Same kind of error...

The electric company's computer accidentally charged her $1000 per kilowatt... Yeah accident my a$$. Has anyone ever wondered WHY the billing computers are able to charge that much in the first place?

Besides, I think it's time people stopped wasting electricity in the first place.

that is a lot alright. Really I don't know why her electric bill is even $100-150. I know they need air conditioning there but that's a lot of money. Mine is about 30 and was about that when my daughter lived with me.
