Applying the word "Alzheimer's" to someone close to you can be uncomfortable, even if the signs or symptoms have been adding up for some time. It's much easier to gloss over strange behavior: "Oh, Mom's just getting older." Or to rationalize: "Well, we a

Thank you Suzy for posting this....

Sadly, I am living with this every day. The Screaming, saying I stole things, or put things in her area and OMG all of the JUNK is beyond belief!

This is an only daughter's worst nightmare, while you try to understand the problem, sometimes I have to take a drive to get away, then return to the Nightmare again! I do understand why some children give up and leave it all for someone else to handle....Just shaking my head in my daily GRIND!

Fire Alarms going off, in fact when I was in the hospital they wanted to know why I had to have my cell plugged in ~ I said since my rescue was in the house, I didn't want her to burn up with my Mom being out of it.

This needs more help from Health Doctors that said my Mom had Mild Memory issues....try living with it on a daily basis and the flinging of the arms, the screaming is quite a lot to deal with!

Thank you for getting this out. I know there was a petition for this and I had signed, but I do believe that there should be another Care2 petition to the Doctors that take care of Elderly people to make the right decisions cause, my mom's doctor is SOOOOO OFF BASE!

When my dad was diagnosed and ended up in the hospital, one of the nurses told me to my face that his condition was MY fault. If it weren't that I'd have faced assault charges, I would have slapped her into the middle of NEXT century! Blaming the victim's family for the victim's brain not working correctly is NOT helpful - and made me distrust the "system" all the more.
