I have sent the letter below - my prayers are with this boy
=====================================

From: Eureka Morrison [mailto:xx]
Sent: 16 February 2009 08:47 PM
To: 'iran@un.int'; 'Shahroudi@Dadgostary-tehran.ir'
Subject: Mercy for Rahim Ahmadi
Importance: High

Att: Mohammad Khazaee, Ambassador and Permanent Representative
His Excellency Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi

16th February 2009

Dear Sirs,

I ask for mercy in the case of Rahim Ahmadi. This was a child at the time of the events. He defended himself violently, believing his life was in danger. We do not always do the right thing, especially when young, passionate and when frightened.

I believe your faith to be very stern, and will not judge, however I ask you to show God’s compassion to this boy. A soul so young, a life so short cannot end now. His life taken will not bring back the dead attacker. Would it not be an act of Grace in God’s eyes to spare the life of this boy – and rather to rehabilitate him back into the comfort of his faith and into the arms of his God?

As leaders you can do this – you can make a difference to the darkness and sadness of this soul. Let your compassionate light shine on Rahim. Let the Koran be the guide of compassion, protection and love.

An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind. I beg you – do not allow the life to be taken from one so young.

Thank you for hearing my plea – God’s blessings upon you and Rahim Ahmadi.

Sincerely,
Eureka Morrison
South Africa

Read and noted (66). It breaks my heart to think that a then Child cannot defend his own life without having to pay with his own life. It just sickens me to think that this precious lad who at the age of 15 is considered an Adult, and is treated in accordance with adult laws. This lad has been incarcerated for the past 5years. Whilst 5 years may not be considered adequate punishment for his action, surely it goes some way towards retribution for what was after all an accident. Mercy needs to be exercised. All Religious Beliefs embrace Mercy for wrongdoing, can't some Mercy be shown this still young person, and at least commute his death sentence to more time spent in jail.

May God be Merciful to this young man, and may his executioners be shown the same Mercy that they have shown this young man, when their day of reckoning comes upon them.

I hope that this is read by Muslims:

The intended execution of Ahmadi is a babarical and a cruel act against God, that shows us again how far Islam is behind all other religions concerning love and human rights that seem to be unknown in the Muslim world. Almost all western countries have banned the death penalty because they respect God and his orders not to kill. It looks like that your Allah is a god of evil and killing, not a god of love and forgiving. Your god is evil.
You people do not give a damn on Gods orders. You make your own rules. And I do not need to tell you where this will take you!

This is criminal on the part of the judge. I am so sorry for this boy. Children should never be executed no matter what the mistake they've done. The mind of a child is not properly developped to handle tragedies like having to face self defense. Oh my! what is wrong with their laws? Men rape women and children and its OK? Its the fault of the women and children? Men are sentenced to a few months in jail for having taken the dignity out of women and its not as serious in the judge's mind? (he probably did it himself).

American People need to be very wary of the hate these Barbarians are trying to spread thru this site and others. This is just one example of the behavior practiced by these so-called "religions", who have an Allah, a very evil god. These people are evil and are trying to take over (& are already spreading) all other nations, our own America included. We have many civilized Muslims in America, but there are also the ones who want to kill Americans and "Jews". I sent a letter regarding this young man, let's see now if there will be any compassion in their religion.

Send a POLITE email requesting mercy for this boy to:

iran@un.int; Shahroudi@Dadgostary-tehran.ir
Subject: Mercy for Rahim Ahmadi

Att: Mohammad Khazaee, Ambassador and Permanent Representative
His Excellency Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi

Insulting letters will not help this boy or any of the other kids on death row. Do no let our rage damage our cause.

And insulting all Muslims here is also not very helpful or polite! I have many Muslim friends, and without exception none of them approve of the execution of children or the stoning of raped women, nor do they approve of any of the Taliban's actions or those of the authorities in Iran.

Within all religions there are radicals - and all of these radicals have slaughtered in the name of their 'God'. Anyone doubts this just study a bit of history. So no one can take the moral high ground here basing it upon the 'goodness' and purity of their religion!

An example: to say that all Christians are bastards because of the bloody crusades fought at the altar of religious purity in centuries past would be to wrong Christians, likewise Muslims.

I am flagging John Homeless' comment as grossly inappropriate. It is pure hate speech and incredibly ugly. Much worse has been done in the name of other religions - and if we want to throw stones, let us make sure we don't live in glass houses!

My comment on flagging John Homeless' comment
=================================
The fact that Iran applies a severe form of Sharia law does not mean all Muslims are evil. And to label them as such is very insulting and hate speech. To call the God of Muslims evil is wrong. This news story was posted to ask people to politely ask the Iranian authorities for mercy for these 'killer' children. If these authorities read this thread, they will simply damn us all to hell, ignore our letters and pleas for mercy. To attack such a huge power like the Iranian government when we need to go on bended knee on behalf of these child 'killers' is contra indicated. We have no power here, all we can do is ask politely. And good manners go a long way, and to insult all Muslims as being from the 'devil' is simply very bad taste, let alone condusive to a positive outcome! I therefore ask you to please remove this comment of John, Homeless. Thank you for taking the time to read my complaint.

Barbara, when you call someone else's God 'evil' you are engaging in a fight, not a plea for peace or clemency! Please read my reasons why we should not post comments like this here - it will not help the cause of these kids.

Tuesday February 17, 2009, 12:57 pm
I think that the worse thing about this is not his age. It is the fact that the Judges acknowledged that he did it in self defense. If he was 18, 21, or 45, it would still be wrong to execute a person for defending himself or herself.

AwayNoPost NoForwards (241)
Tuesday February 17, 2009, 1:09 pm
Esther, I agree, very strange laws. Sharia law seems pretty severe - basically an eye for an eye. Only the family of the deceased can actually pardon the 'killer'. But this does not necessarily mean freedom for the 'killer'. An eye for an eye just makes the whole world blind. But that is just my opinion. Most people in the world use religion to justify the most horrid atrocities - any history buff will agree. I pray for the day when we all live in harmony, in peace. A world where no one attacks anyone, therefore no one would have to defend themselves.

And here I include the animals, the most abused of all. I also include all the peoples of all nations - those who suffer because of wars, dictatorships, famine and the like. This world is indeed a veil of tears. May God by whatever name we choose to call our creator shelter and protect and give comfort to the hearts and souls to all of humanity.

They are both totally opposed to the evil regime that allows this kind of barbarism to happen and so am I and many others.
If more people told it as it is perhaps the other 25 unfortunate kids on your list wouldn't be on death row.

I am glad to see so many people taking action on this issue. This is NOT an issue on RELIGION and/or the Higher Power(s)....MANY atrocities have been committed on behalf of Allah, Buddah, even God. To just use an example...look at what the Catholics did in the past to force people to follow "their" God...or the burning of "witches" in Salem,MA for "Devil-Worship". The higher powers should NEVER be used as an excuse for the violent acts of HUMAN BEINGS...no matter what their religious belief's. The issue is the execution of a 15 year old boy (one who has spent the past FIVE years) behind prison walls, and others like him!!! May whatever higher power you or they believe in have mercy on their souls!!! Care2 members and anyone else who wishes to voice their opinion should be allowed to do so (it's called Freedom of Speech) but, please do NOT use this as a reason to act with prejudice simply based on the religious belief's of ANY one group. We are ALL individuals with a conscious mind and free will....Blessings to EVERYONE...and when tomorrow comes...keep this young man in your thoughts and prayers...HE is a victim of mindless hatred as much as anyone else. )O(

I've been trying to think how we could respond to this story and others like it without mentioning religion. But, it is not possible, as their actions are based on their religion. They base everything on their "religion". I think therein lies the problem.

Michelle Ciufo (213)
Tuesday February 17, 2009, 4:25 pm
You are right, however there-in lies the difference in "religion" vs "spirituality" and a respect for ALL life...Our Higher Powers did NOT ask to be used as our EXCUSE for abominable actions...light a candle for this child and all others who suffer by others' use of their "God(s)"...

Did You Know Rahim Ahmadi Is Muslim, Are You saying He Is Evil also, Just Look At Your Post Above Where You Say "This is just one example of the behavior practiced by these so-called Quote: "religions", who have an Allah, a very evil god. These people are evil and are trying to take over" Unquote

And You Call yourself A Christian ..... I Believe In One god Who Has Many Names ... I Under Freedom Choose To Call Him Lord Jesus Christ.
And May God Protect Young Rahim

Please forgive my ignorance, but could not find anything in his views contrary to moi. All my friends know without being asked, we shall surely find things we disagree with. But, dear friends, that alone makes not for a bad-guy. During my tour of duty, I had the great pleasure to jump with Navy (Seals), Marines (Path Finders), Airforce (Forward Observers), and CIA (Field Operatives). I've never forgotten that they treated we Stump-Jumpers with up most respect. I would gladly lay my narly-ass on the line for any of these very cool dudes. I feel honored just to be in the same C-130 as they were. And, I must also convey that I am a really ol' geezer. I owe Christian his observations. I can respect his views. If any here is more valuable than my cool friend, Christian, all I ask is that we respect his observations. Trust, me, my cool pal Christian has seen a great deal of this -- and like moi, he still tries the up-hill battle of conveying his cool thoughts with all of us. I can truly dig that. To my cool Brother, Christian, we've seen enough that would jade even the most patriotic person. May I humble assert, they're not privy to what you and I witnessed on our tour? I know and respect these people; given time, you too will learn to love and respect them. Nay, my cool Brother, you and I, by military protocol, must see this as a great venue for dialog. I already know your heart is right where my heart lies. As we say in the Airborne, Airborne All the Way... Your ol' swampie Bro, Bill ~Peace~

Christian, I have no idea what your religion is nor do I care. But you can just leave me alone and keep your hatemongering to yourself. My comment was not written to you. So just mind your own business and move on. If you don't like what I said, that is too bad, so sad. I don't like what you say either. Since you are not an American, and we are speaking as Americans, I don't expect you to understand. Your disdain for Americans is obvious in every attack you level at me. Bug off!

Christian, Barbara stated -
"We have many civilized Muslims in America, but there are also the ones who want to kill Americans and "Jews"."
I think that she was showing that she knew that all Muslims are not the same. She seemed to be referring to the fanatic Muslims who think that Allah wants them to kill just about everybody who is not a Muslim or even who they think is not the"right" kind of Muslim. They use the term Allah to encourage such violence and killings. I don't think every Muslim thinks that way and therefore their Allah is not evil. Their Allah would be the same as our God.

we are looking for youth to stand up and join our cause. Rahim Ahmadi was spared his execution yesterday, but many other kids weren't and he is also still in danger. Anyone can sign our petition and we need as many as possible to make a different.

I come from a long line of Military people. All 9 of my Uncles, my son, 2 sons-in-law, my daughter, my daughter-in-law, several nephews and now my granddaughter are all presently or retired from the Military. I have a daughter-in-law overseas right now. Stonewall Jackson is my 4th great-uncle. I had at least one or more relatives in every war this country has been involved in. I know the sacrifices for our freedom, and I know there is a faction out there who want to take away that freedom, and believes all Americans and Israelis (according to their god) are to be killed.

He has not been spared? Is it too late now? They are a day ahead of us, how will we know his status? I hope someone is reading them. I, for one, am hoping for a reconciliation with Iran. I have Iranian friends, muslim friends & doctors, Jewish friends, Hebrew friends, along with Christian friends, most in America, and all are praying in their own ways for this young man. We will add the other young men to the list. May God bless us all and answer our prayers.

Please forgive moi, Bombthe B., I have seen people shot to pieces. Even today I have to stop myself from barfing when seeing an innocent person blown to hell in a hand-basket. I know and understand if your were with my combat team, that was what was asked from us. We did it to protect our "cover," "let no man live to kill our brethren." So, I am fully aware of your main intent. But, my cool Brother at Arms, when you see the carnage of children and women, and elderly blown to hell, even you would see the folly of our "war of collateral Damage." I am not angry with you, only the human waste of war. Yes, dear friend, I had been an active participant in those "search and destroy" missions -- but I never wanted to do what was asked of us. For that, I am guilty of the worst crime -- not wanting to kill the innocent. For that, you are 100% correct. ~Peace~

Rahim Ahmadi will not be executed
by SCE Campaign
18-Feb-2009

Stop Child Executions is happy to announce that Rahim Ahmadi has a stay of execution for the time being. His mother received news yesterday that her son was not on the list of those scheduled to be executed.

Seven people were taken to be executed on Monday. Five of them ended up being executed while two, who had nooses around their necks ready to be executed ,were reprieved at the last minute. Rahim Ahmadi's lawyer sent a message today thanking all those who helped pressure the Iranian Judiary to halt his execution. Stop Child Executions also thanks all those who took action in this urgent matter.

this is the latest I have found, anyone else? this poor young one seems to have been robbed of any justice, I cannot imagine being defenseless in my own home. At the very least we can believe in our actions having a positive effect.

Thank You Sheila G. for the notification that Rahim Ahmadi has been granted a temporary stay of execution. Whilst he is not out of the woods yet, it is a sign that Mercy may prevail after all. My prayers will continue until a final decision is made. What torture this young man,and his family must be going through, not knowing where their Son's fate lies. For Rahim himself, he must be terrified out of his wits. Hopefully, his Faith will continue to sustain him throughout the turmoil which he finds himself embroiled in.

Sometimes I wonder what certain human beings are made of. To consider executing a child is way beyond my understanding. I dont care what religion is involved in the issue. The fact that they are PEOPLE taking this criminal unforgivable decision. Poor God, how he must be feeling considering the awful things that are done in His name since the begining of time. May our prayers go out to the ones that can go back and reconsider this unnatural act. What animal will kill a perfectly healthy pup of their own specie??????????? None that I know of.

I am relieved that this boy has had a temporary stay of execution. The most horrible atrocities are committed the world over in the name of various religions and causes....

And true, I'm not the policeman of this thread, however, I would urge care2 members to realise the gravity of this thread. When one attacks the belief system of a nation, a group, a person one is no longer engaging in dialogue - one is in 'attack' mode.

This news story is SERIOUS, and we as thinking humans must realise that to offend anyone here is not going to help these young men at all.

When I sent the link to this news story to all my friends - it was not to start a slanging match between care2 members, neither was it intended as a political forum for our personal soap boxes - there are plenty of other threads where a free for all is pretty okay.

But since we are trying to save lives here - SERIOUSLY - it behoves us to do it with dignity. We do n ot agree with their policies - that is obvious. Politeness here is of paramount importantce. What prevents these people from coming here to read this thread? What prevents our Muslim brothers and sisters from posting the comments on this thread to the Iranian authorities? Nothing!

This thread is not about our political opinions (we have a right to them, and we have a right to freedom of speech). What would be incredibly sad is if our radical and disrespectful comments here do not work for these young men, but against them.

So I ask, I actually plead - let us make this thread a plea, a prayer for these young men - not a soap box for our own belief systems. We know we believe differently, otherwise why would we bother to write here in the first place? Pur our own egos aside, and let us concentrate on our prayers, our emails, our own belief in the goodness of our creator, by whatever name.

Hugs to you all. And thank you for caring.

I copy a comment from above:

I am distressed to see God being blamed for so much of the evil we are all talking about and fighting against, it is not God but his creation that believes they are all some type of God and can interpret as they please, and kill when they feel so self righteous, this doesn't come from God but from the evil mankind, none of us who loves each other needs to fight about this but work harder together to try to right these wrongs! We need more exposure for this boy and others like him, continue all please to forward to friends in all forums.
