Figurines and statues have been a part of Christianity since its inception, but should we be killing animals to make them? Sadly, religion figures heavily in the demand for ivory, something Noah probably didn't have in mind when he marched those animals

Sadly the church of Rome has never ranked highly in the arena of social responsibility and the natural world.

National Geographic October 2012 contains the article on blood ivory and the love that Philipinos have for religious figures carved from it.

Just another sad reason why I left the Catholic Church.
I agree with Bernard C. To me, the Vatican has always seemed to place itself above these types of social responsibilities!
