Political candidates takes money from money from corporations and people who have money. who have money. What a surprise. No, Romney doe not have to release the names of these "bundlers" -cute term.
This is fortunate for Obama as he would have to admit BP, and Shell are big bundlers to his campaign. Also, how many banks have given contributions when there was a near run on Bank of America - who stopped people from being allowed to withdraw their money? Who in the Federal Reserve allowed this?

Ty Carrie. Everything that man says is stupid, convoluted or just pure bunkum. A greedy fools' fool is now running for the highest office in the land.

Romney is a re-branded "Robber Baron" period. When i was growing was against the rules to even wear any commercial "labels" [ie. logos] that could be seen on any items taken to [public] would be sent home immediately. The small labels on the heel of shoes was acceptable [omens.] What a "snow job" has done on America that they even run for President. Romney IS a great success... at being a Grand Greedy Jerk.

“Deregulation is a transfer of power from the trodden to the treading. It is unsurprising that all conservative parties claim to hate big government.” ― George Monbiot

“The absence of effective State, and, especially, national, restraint upon unfair money-getting has tended to create a small class of enormously wealthy and economically powerful men, whose chief object is to hold and increase their power. The prime need to is to change the conditions which enable these men to accumulate power which it is not for the general welfare that they should hold or exercise. We grudge no man a fortune which represents his own power and sagacity, when exercised with entire regard to the welfare of his fellows. [...] We grudge no man a fortune in civil life if it is honorably obtained and well used. It is not even enough that it should have been gained without doing damage to the community. We should permit it to be gained only so long as the gaining represents benefit to the community.” ― Pres. Theodore Roosevelt, Republican [who LEFT that party to form the Progressive Party]

"Business knows no pity, and cares for justice only when justice is seen to be better policy. If it had power to control the elements, it would grasp in its iron clutches the waters, sunshine and air and resell them by measure, and at exorbitant prices to the millions of famished men, women and children." — W.A. Duncan, in the Cherokee Advocate, 1892

"No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level --I mean the wages of decent living. " —Franklin D. Roosevelt, US Pres.

"For it is an absurdity to call a country civilized in which a decent and industrious man, laboriously mastering a trade which is valuable and necessary to the common weal, has no assurance that it will sustain him while he stands ready to practice it, or keep him out of the poorhouse when illness or age makes him idle." —H.L. Mencken

This has come down to how many Americans are still independent thinkers and how many have been dumbed down and zombified by FOX "news"----and how many are going to come out to vote and be allowed to vote. If everything goes according to logic and reason, Romney has no hope of winning anything but the disdain of every citizen of the still functional thinking USA.

"On Tuesday, Mitt Romney sounded a clarion call for renewed economic freedom and an end to the kind of Washington cronyism that funnels taxpayer money to friends and donors. The speech, which was delivered in Irwin, Pa., is being hailed as one of his best of this campaign."

Well, at least no one will ever be able to accuse Mitt, as he accused the President yesterday (falsely of course) of steering contracts to his campaign contributors because Mitt, unlike the President, is never going to tell anyone who they are. He makes Tricky Dick look innocent. Best speech ever? Another one in which he slurs the President and insinuates he is somehow "foreign"? How can anyone even say Mitt gave a great speech with a straight face. The man is a bombastic moron and he sounds exactly that way when he speaks. He doesn't relate at all to the average person. He can't. He has never had our experience with life. His "toughest" moment was beating up a terrifed gay teen as the bully he still is shines through in every one of his stump speeches. I swear a ring master, this guy will never be. He is a complete waste of space. The only reason anyone listens to him at all is because of his racism and bigotry. Those are the only average people he can get to listen to him. The ones he actually cares about pay $25000 for a dinner plate with him. He slides further into the mire and muck every day. I am so tired of this pontificating blowhard I wish it were already November, just to be done hearing about him. He literally makes my skin crawl. He likes firing people, well, I hope he enjoys being fired by the American people this fall. And then just goes to one of his offshore spots never to be heard from again...

Brilliant quotes Elle B - thanks. It looks as if today's GOP would call all the old Republicans 'Democrats' instead - the Tea Party and the GOP have gone sooo far right into obsessive greed, Theodore Roosevelt wouldn't even recognise them!

How about Obama's multiple blunders, both before he took office and afterwards...such as his 20 year association with the Church where Rev. Wright spoke, and which he did not remove himself until there was such an outcry against Obama. Mr. Obama must have agreed with Rev. Wright's values and morals...otherwise Obama would not have had him perform the marriage ceremony with Michelle nor would have had him baptise his children.
How about his political career starting within the home of Ayres and Dorn - both US born terrorists who wanted to blow up the US Capital (but were not successful) are trying to destroy us from within by indoctrinating the young towards their socialist/communist value systems.
How about Obama's love of transferring the wealth of hard working Americans to those who do not choose to work at all..and creating a dependent class...when Mr. Obama's half-brother George (still in Kenya) has not been helped by Obama in any way. The brother does not want a hand out, only help to start his own small business (auto-repair shop). Mr. Obama gave little to charity before he was elected, and gives away little now. He is tight with his own money...not so with others.
Obama also has close ties with the anti-semitic Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam. An anti-semite if there ever was one.
Mr. Farrakhan, Mr. Ayres and Mr. Obama live within one mile of each other in the Hyde Park District of Chicago. Promiximity in residency, in this case, also reflects proximity in anti-American, anti-semitic, anti-capitalist biasis.
I can go on and on...Hopefully, the next election will see not just getting Mr. Obama out of the Whtehouse but many socialists and communist sympathisers in Congress as well.

Th Obama campaign has routinely disclosed their bundlers, higlighting the top ones, for all of us--Romney should have been doing likewise just like he should have released tax returns long ago like his father did

MItt Romney is the best politician that money can buy........more's the pity since he is completely incompetent on his policies.
At least it proves that treason has a price and the 1% are willing to pay it in order to get away with committing it.

again "we all" who aren't lucky enough to be born rich should just shut up and be grateful people like the Robme's have disclosed anything and invest anything in the USA.....what company would he have invested in without fully evaluating their finances and recent taxes??? why with the Bush tax cuts in place this past decade has this "overseas job creator" not been investing in the USA, but investing overseas????
again the Greedy Obstructing Polluting party tries to use magical logic to convince the citizens they are the most patriotic, the safest, the best......those of us who think and care about others need to remain smarter than that....

Elizabeth M - do you really in your heart believe that Romney would be better for American than Obama? You must be rich. He is a pompous ass that is out of touch with the 99% of America that has to work. He took jobs away from Americans and has taken our money out of America and you think he would be better than Obama? Obama has been shut down by the do nothing Congress for 4 years. Just think how much better off America would be if Congress was working with the President rather than against the President.

I want a bumper sticker that reads: NOBODY FOR PRESIDENT.
In America, the rich inherit the Presidency and the middle class and the poor get screwed.

So, Willard 'the Rat' Romney is still trying to campaign with the 'one standard for the rich and another for every one else'. Well Willie Rat would have no problem winning LOTUS, Liar Of The United States, particularly if a majority of Americans become, as Elizabeth M., et alia, lotophagi-lotus eaters. In this case the 'lotus' are the lies of Romney and his surrogates and sycophants that keep the eaters in a state of mindless euphoric lethargy. "You People"from A.R. same as the "Small People" from BP are to eat what the lies put before them, shut off their minds and do what the Rich tell them, not what is best for them. I find it interesting that what Romney and the above article both fail to mention is that while some of those who support Obama received some of the above mentioned Government funds the majority of those funds went to those who partly or entirely fund Repug politicians and causes, such as Meg Whitman of HP fame. And none of the above mentioned Federal Funds comes any where near the amount of Federal Funds directly, and frequently with out the contracts being put up for competitive bidding, funneled by the Bush/Cheney Administration to Halliburton, including the Halliburton Loophole in the 2005 Energy Bill, and KBR and Blackwater/Xe/Academi, what erver their new name is, for the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
