As the country (okay, fine, Republican and Democratic pundits) debate whether Ann Romney has actually worked a day in her life (yes, she's worked at raising her children and maintaining the household; no, she's never earned a paycheck to feed or...

Let's please leave this woman out of the race. Even if Romney does win, Ann is unlikely to make any important statements, raise any major issues, or make any impact at all on the political stage. Who cares?

Unfortunately, she is part of the race every time she opens her mouth.

She IS part of the race - behind every successful man is a determined woman!

I don't believe for a minute she is a doormat - she comes over as more manipulative trying to pretend to be the girl next door.... Rmoney's birthday money was invested in stock every years, 'It wasn't much just a few thousands...' - just about everyone else has had to earn their way through life - they have been given it all and STILL aren't grateful!

They haven't got a clue what real life is like - and if they did have a clue or Rmoney had actually read the Gospels, then he wouldn't have destroyed all those companies and given the jobs to other countries.

Don't forget Romney is a business man and cares little about people. I do believe the MRS. feels the same way!

It reminds me of a friend of mine when I was very young. She wrote to me that she was really worried about her father, as he was "down to his last million.
At he time I was living in a migrant hosted with a tin roof over our accommodation. The tin roof had never learnt how to quarrel with the weather!

The Romneys neither care or have any idea of the plight of anyone not in the "upper" class.. Thank you.

Sounds like Ann agrees with Wallis Simpson, "You can never be too rich or too thin." Lovely!

All hail Queen Ann.......yeah, right......NOT. How sad that this is all the GOP has left to offer the American people. American Royalty (in their own minds). Our founding fathers wanted no nobility in the new US, unfortunately, it has been here since day one. Now, the only difference is, they no longer hide it and dare the 'little people' to say or do anything about it. I'm getting my pitchfork and torches ready.........

What would one expect from the "Let them eat cake" mentality that seems to be the mode of the 1%ers

Ann Romney is the reincarnation of Marie Antionette - clueless, rich, and soon to lose her head (the brain's already stepped out..;). I'm with Terrie, all our farm implements are rusting anyway, might as well put them to better use!;)

It is unfortunate that this article can't rise above negative campaigning. Stating something positive about the candidate that they support would be refreshing.

Michael I have to agree all the name calling just becomes boring
Just because some one has money it sounds like of a lot of people are so full of envy
I do not have money but leave the people who do alone it starts sounding so vindictive and jealous if you read down the thread I know nothing about the woman but remember either a lot of our mothers or grandmothers did not work even though I worked very hard to support my family up Many mothers also work hard bringing up a family no one know what goes on behind closed door. I know it is election year so its a tender point but we should try and think positive USA is still a world leader and a wonderful country compared to many

The press should be interviewing Mr & Ms Rmoney. The press was 'out to lunch' when BushBoy and cronies started the war on Iraq. I am not voting for Rmoney but know nothing about him, except that he is a rich Mormon. How old is he? What are his ailments?

I don't care about someone's wealth. What I care about is that someone who is wealthy is desensitized to the real problems in the world. Someone like that is NOT FIT to run for public office where they can influence public policy They are a detriment to normal society. .

For Shar:
"Born Willard Mitt Romney on March 12, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Romney attended the prestigious Cranbrook School before receiving his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 1971. He attended Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School and received both a law degree and an M.B.A. in 1975.

Mitt Romney married Ann Davies in 1969; they have five sons, Tagg, Matt, Josh, Ben and Craig. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the Mormon Church."

I am not certain I trust your agenda for avoiding any investigation of Ann Romney, Heidi.
Looking at Ann Romney gives us another window into who Mitt is Unfit. Mrs. Romney won't any impact on a presidents decisions? Some of the most important women in history were the power behind a throne. You diss the importance of women in a relationship.

It's not what they have that is the problem, it is what they are - insensitive.

Can't possibly know what it's like for the majority, or to feel hungry or cold for extended periods.

They can not show their true selves to the world so none of us really know about how they feel Sadly even if they sneeze people are ready to find some fault Just because they have never felt cold and hungry does not mean they have no feelings for others
Must they apologise all their lives for being born to a privileged family
We are sometimes so ready to judge I believe sometimes try looking for the good its always there bad points stare you in the face It is so easy to find faults we all have them Envy is one of the worst

"Just because they have never felt cold and hungry does not mean they have no feelings for others" - marie tc -

Of course they have feelings for others. They feel indifference at best, and contempt and smugness at worst. It's true that if you've never been cold and hungry, you can't possibly understand what it's like for other people who have no heat/electricity and very little food.

Well Ann 'Cruella De Cadillacs' Romney and her "You people" attitude is more than just a window into the Romney mind set it is a family portrait, much akin to Napoleon and Josephine both with their hands in their in their clothes clutching at their wallets. Her whine about 'their time of economic distress' when they had to sell stocks and take a loss is not only disgusting compared to the ever growing number of off-shored into unemployment and/or homeless Families in the US and/or hungry children and/or Americans dying from lack of affordable health care... but totally unacceptable as an attitude for a Fisrt Lady or President or Political Party in Control of the US government.

It's not that she hasn't worked or that she has money - it's that she is insensitive, non-compassionate, and not somebody I want representing me or my country.

I respect your comment Arielle
"Just because they have never felt cold and hungry does not mean they have no feelings for others"
I stick to my comment Shan How do you know how people feel I find that very strange and presumptuous Do you know her personally or just what you read in the newspapers and TV
Check out how many good charitable people have been born to money in this world You make it sound as if only poor people can have feelings.
You should ask yourself how many charities backed by wealthy people help others
So in my opinion I feel your comment is uncalled for and unreasonable

Ann Romney's words make her appear to be insensitive and lacking in compassion for the very people she wants to vote for her husband.

Different comment again I respect this comment this is your opinion others talk about this woman as if it is written in stone We can all have opinions
I do not like the down trodden attitude of them and us

Yes, I'm sure you do stick to your comment - like crazy glue. After all, that's what your sort does - stick to their opinions and never let FACTS get in the way. Ann Romney has been QUOTED both in print and on camera saying thoughtless things that prove she has no idea what it's really like to be cold and hungry. SHE has never been in the position where she literally could not afford to heat her home. SHE has never been in the position of literally wondering where her next meal was coming from, or when.

Well, marie - I HAVE been in those situations. I KNOW what it's like to have to pile on every blanket I own and wear my winter coat to bed so I don't FREEZE TO DEATH. I KNOW what it's like not to be able to afford food or medicine. I'm in a better situation now, but 10-12 years ago, I was pretty desperate. And you cannot tell me that Ann Romney has the slightest clue how I felt. And I had it much better than a lot of people - at least I had a roof over my head. So many people don't even have that.

We base our opinions of others on their words and actions. The Romney's are in the spotlight because Mitt Romney has chosen to run for president. Their words and actions have made many of us believe they care little about ordinary people. Referring to "you people" and being secretive about finances is not exactly endearing.
