"According to the ABC News/Washington Post survey, 49% of Americans have an unfavorable view of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, while 40% see him in a favorable light."

I saw a poll of registered voters a couple weeks ago that said 52% viewed him unfavorably. I think that more valid than the "person in the street" polls. People simply do not trust him. I think he was born in a suit. Yet there he is in his brand new blue jeans trying to look like a common man. As if. He has nothing in common with the average American and never has. Never will. He doesn't understand the first thing about what life is like for people who weren't born on third base. And he never will. His attempts at humor are lame, he is completely untrustworthy, he won't follow up on his promises to the media and every day he hides those tax returns he moves one step closer to the biggest loss since Walter Mondale's against Reagan in 1984. Walter carried only his own state, mine, and he is a wonderful man. I don't know if Mitt can carry his own state, be it Utah or Massachusetts. Struggling? Most misleading. He is SINKING. And each desperate attempt to deflect away from his tax problem with another outright lie, like the one about welfare which, besides being racist, was just untrue - the President did nothing but grant the waivers the Republican Governor's, including MITT, asked for, makes him look even less trustworthy. Which is good, because he's not. Trust him to be head of our Union? Not going to happen.

The harder he tries to woo voters, the more lies, exaggerations and half-truths come out of his mouth in a desperate attempt to win them over. All he has to do is keep on talking, because that's his undoing. If only people would really listen!...

Stars to Gene and Michael C - sorry Susanne, computer wouldn't let me yet! I do hope these polls are right - and that it stays that way into voting. Mind you, I am still horrified that a possible 40% like this hypocritical, mendacious, preztel-spined, repulsive, arrogant creep!

Patricia? I think that 40%, if it is that large, who approve of him do so only for his "evangelical" (hilarious for a Mormon) stances on all things devout, misled but devout, Christians hold dear. None of which Christ held close, of course. Things like the death penalty, tax cuts for the wealthy, dismantling the social safety net, abolishing those inconvenient government agencies that hound corporations to follow the law. Saw a most interesting article in yesterday's paper talking about the monster sized penalties and fines corporations are paying for violations of law but that almost none of the people running those corporations are doing any time at all for their actions. It was all the corporation's (they're people after all) fault but it is tough to put one in jail. So, I think their proxy commanders so should do the corporation's time. Now I just wish federal judges agreed with me. Of course, they'd do it a camp with a golf course, but still, fines aren't enough to deter bad behavior, put a few of those guys in jail might help mitigate future unlawful acts, I think.

I think the 40% are mostly made up of people who still fear Obama and have bought into the idea that any Republican, no matter how untrustworthy and manipulative, is better than one of those "stinking Liberals" who would elect a Black man. Here in Mississippi, a clerk in our Ace Hardware said to us that she would like to take a gun and shoot Obama for making her life so miserable. These are people who cannot be reasoned with... it was impossible for us to get through to her and the other customers seemed to share her views. Fox "News" has created a pack of rabid dogs that threatens to destroy our ability to think or act rationally or even listen to any other point of view.

Susanne R. and Gene Jacobson: I can't send you a green star this week.
All I can say that you've said it all - what more can I say?
Jeannette A.: Did the clerk in the hardware store say how and why Obama had made her life so miserable?

Rmoney keeps on losing voters because he says one thing to one group of people
and says something else to another group of people on the same issue. Rmoney has
been doing this for quite some tome now.

Rmoney has no integrity at all.

Ty, Carrie.

If the American people really paid attention his disapproval rating would include everyone except the 32% of the top 1% who think their taxes should be lowered. 99.68% would detest him.

I saw a recent article that indicated that the line for Romney to achieve enough electoral votes would be the most famous inside straight as hasn't even happened in the movies. It was heartening. And, now with this, and others, it is looking better and better, although I still read one today that forecast doom because of all the laws still in place at the state level barring voters. Holder and company do not have sufficient resources and time to overturn them all in time. But beyond that, the news gets better and better. I also have been reading for months that Obama was and has been ahead for sometime, but because the media is milking this election by trying to make it appear closer than it is, most Americans don't know it.
