To some, farmers and conservationists may seem like unlikely allies. But last week, hundreds of representatives from farm and conservation organizations rallied together on Capitol Hill.

Thanks Carrie for the link to the article by Mark Terelc. The Farm Bill needs to be passed and the BIG AG add ons removed. I have emailed and called both my Senators and my Rep about this. Read and noted.

Congress doesn't seem to be able to pass anything these days. Repuklicans voted against the Veterans jobs bill, that's about as pathetic as it can get.

Since, according to the article, America's huge agriculture sector is among the best performing in our national economy, why is Congress dragging its feet on renewing the Farm Bill? Could it be the "level of food-stamp funding" issue that's holding them up?

These repug idiots won't pass anything during Pres. Obama's term. They don't want him to get the credit so to hell with the country and its people. Patriotism? NOT. They should all be replaced with real patriotic Americans.

As always, the devil is in the details with this bill. As the article stated, changes must be made.

SORRY! But some one forgot to tell the assholes in the Repug/Teanderthal Majority that they were elected to govern. The US House of Representatives is in recess until Nov. 13, 2012, just like they scheduled 3 weeks of being there, I would say work but the Repugs have done zip, followed by one week off for the entire year. So the Farm Bill, the Violence Against Women Act, the Jobs Act, the Tax Cuts for Working Families, the Veterans Jobs Corps Act(filibustered by Senate Repugs and the House Repug leadership refuses to bring to the floor),and all Debt Sequestration Cut Bills must be handled in the few weeks/days left from Nov. 13 to Dec. 31 not already scheduled off for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not only do the Repug/Tea Bagged oppose government but they oppose GOVERNING and actually doing the jobs they were hired to do.
