Does Romney's Promise That His Tax Cuts Won't Benefit The Rich Sound Familiar? George W. Bush Said The Same Thing

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's tax plan would be a boon for the wealthiest Americans, a fact Romney himself admitted in GOP primary debates.

What a plan? How does the plan work? How does one reduce taxes and increase the military, while keeping all other things in place? Cutting PBS? Not really, that is not much of their budget nor that of the Federal government.

Romney’s proposal to zero-out federal spending for public broadcasting will have little to no effect on Sesame Street’s budget because the show receives “very, very little funding” from PBS, Sesame Street’s executive vice president Sherrie Westin told CNN last week. Westin said the majority of the show’s funding comes from corporate sponsorships, product sales and donations. (ABC News)

I'm sure most realize that all of the Big Bird and Sesame Street digs at Romney are not to be taken seriously, but to point out the ridiculousness of Romney.

INdeed he did Carrie, but that is something else the rightwing would really prefer people forget about isn't it ?

He's already in firing mode isn't he...defunding PBS will put a lot of people out of work or isn't he aware of ..aka....that stupid ?....or is it that he really doesn'te care....as his Corporate background and 'expertise 'isn't in creating jobs.... it's in outsourcing of jobs and or job eliminations .

Personally I stand on the side of BIg Bird and all the other characters and people at PBS and for their keeping their jobs....not letting some corporate smuck end them.

The rich need those cuts so they can invest in foreign markets...foreign jobs and for staching away in foreign banks..apparently they don't trust those of America either..and who can blame them on that point.

Jae, what Mitt said was that he was going to get rid of all the companies that we are borrowing money from China to pay for. Did you even watch the debates?

Romney is heads above Obama when it comes to making money. In fact, Romney has been very good at it. When Mitt puts millions of Americans back to work on the pipeline, coal mines, and addresses our small businesses who need a hand up and who also employ 53% of Amerians, when millions of people have jobs the tax money flows in. It also comes into soial security and into the states. When unemployment is low it is the best example of how perfect "trickle down economics" works. Money flows out of one hand and into another. President Obama has put so much uncertainty into everyone's lives that Americans have been saving money, paying down debt and just sitting tight. Hence, no money flowing anywhere.

We need Obama out of OUR White House....he doesn't have a clue when it comes to economics. He isn't qualified to run a company much less a country. Obama is anti-American IMO and he never belonged in Washington DC.

Portugal is getting ready to drastically raise taxes in their country because they have high unemployment and entitement issues. France is pondering raising taxes on their rich who earn $1 million by taxing them 75%!
Large companies in France will leave and relocate to another country where they will pay much lower taxes...so then what happens to those who lose their jobs? It's a vicious cycle. What liberals don't understand is that "growth" is what the US is all about.

How many of you work for a large company? Where wouldthis country be without our small businesses and large corporations where we receive a salary, health benefits, retirement benefits, etc??? So, you wat to penalize them by making it very expensive to run a country in the US? Want to chase them out? This is why many companies have outsourced their jobs...taxes and the unions.

Liberals are a trip....

Oh, Diane O. - I don't want to be mean but your kind just brings it out in me. I hope you live near the pipeline or your land is stolen to built the pipeline. If your water is soiled, I won't care, I will only feel sorry for the innocent people and animals, you are not innocent. And, where do you think the company benefits come from? They are there because the unions got them first and then, the rest of us did. Your precious Romney and the other Repugs have no problem getting rid of the unions; do you really think non-union workers will continue to get those benefits once the unions are gone? Thanks to Bushy jr., our wages have flat for years while the rich keep getting richer. And, why do you think running a company qualifies Romney to be President? The government isn't a company and it should not be run as one. The real trip are you Repugs, you are a woman, how can you allow those rich, white males to tell you what you can and can't do regarding your body and your decisions? Shame on you. Your argument about companies leaving America is a hoot; America has the lowest tax rate in the world, why would any of them leave? Especially when they can have their manufacturing overseas, employing slave labor, and then charge full prices for the goods here in America. Think of Apple as an example.

Jae - I can't give you a star but you deserve several because of your comments.

Let's be clear. This notion that raising income taxes on the wealthy hurts the economy is one that is not supported by history or the facts...it is a complete falsehood. The main reason companies outsourced jobs to begin with is greed! Large corporations in this country are sitting on huge amounts of cash. And the main reason many enjoy "a salary, health benefits, retirement benefits, etc." is BECAUSE of labor unions, whether they or not they ever belonged to one.
