two more reasons to get out.........I believe one candidate is working on this, but the other wants to stay and likely create a new war, too.......

The insanity continues. Because of its "strategic" location, between the west and the east, every military power and its dog have been fighting over the place since Alexander the Great. Russia and Great Britain bickered over it well into the 20th century then both abandoned it as untameable. The Soviet Union tried to expand there in 1979 and the US armed and trained the Mujaheddin, thereby creating the Taleban and the movement which the CIA dubbed Al Qaeda. The SU pulled out, having achieved nothing positive, and now we are back. Apparently we clever people learn nothing about the futility of involvement in Afghanistan, not even from a history of failed military campaigns and the endless misery of its population. US soldiers are killed by decades-old American weaponry. How insane is that? And by the way: one man's insurgent is another man's freedom fighter.

When two of "ours" get killed, it's a national tragedy; when DOZENS, even HUNDREDS of their men, women, children, babies, old people, teenagers get killed -- for example, in Drone attacks -- well, too bad, shrug, let's talk about something else.

They love THEIR families, as we love OURS.
THEIR children, are JUST AS PRECIOUS.
The deaths of Afghanis -- and Pakistanis, Iraqis, Iranians -- ARE MEANINGFUL.

If THEY were invading US, WE'D be fighting, too.
And all of our families, babies, children, would be AT RISK from the ruthless Invaders.
Folks, WE ARE NOT THE "GOOD GUYS" HERE.

Our troops are fed DRUGS that make them CRAZY. That's why you {occasionally} here about atrocities. I'm sure there are far more Atrocities and War Crimes committed by OUR troops, then we will EVER hear about.

Is "bin Laden" still there?
Are they "hiding" "bin Laden" from us, so need to be "punished"?
Are we -- BIGGEST LAFF OF ALL -- are we "protecting" women and children from the Taliban? "Protecting" women and children by KILLING, MAIMING, WOUNDING, TERRORIZING THEM??? Shredding their families apart? Making them into refugees?
We are NOT the "Good Guys" in Afghanistan, in ANY sense of the word.
THAT is why our soldiers, coming back, CANNOT LIVE WITH WHAT THEY HAVE SEEN THERE AND DONE THERE --
and they CAN'T LIVE WITH THEMSELVES, WITH THAT GUILT, AND COMMIT SUICIDE.
At the rate of ONE SUICIDE PER DAY.
MORE than die in Combat.

The sooner the US gets out of the "graveyard of Empires" the better. We need our troops and treasure here at home....now.

As we have said continually - this is a war we should not even have contemplated. It is a no-win situation all round and the West started it, thinking it was going to exorcise Al-Qaeda!!!!!!!!!!!!

The patriots score a safety. (Pointy ball reference, for those who do not understand.)

There is a reason why Special Forces/Special Ops are so secret: some (but probably not a majority, unfortunately) in USA would be appalled if they knew what they actually do. Over there, people know what they do; it is no secret to the survivors of the victims.

I will always mourn the deaths of men and women in uniform - as well as those of the innocent civilians.
