In all the pundit chatter leading up to and in the aftermath of Tuesday's re-election of President Obama, the most intriguing talk was about actress and Obama activist Judd as a potential U.S. Senate candidate in her former home, Kentucky, or Tennessee.

We could certainly do much worse and we have! Ashley Judd is intelligent, well educated, politically active, and well respected! Recruitment needs to start NOW!

I knew that Ashley was an Obama supporter, but did not know that a career in politics was in the offing.

Sounds a good idea to me....

Noted. If she want to run, I absolutely support her. She is a great person. She is very bright and could win even in a very red state like Kentucky because a lot of money would come her way. I'm just not so sure she wants to run.

I think she could be persuaded if she were courted as a serious candidate and not a pretty Hollywood star. My feeling is that she is interested, but is afraid that "the powers that be" might not take her seriously. Too bad because she is a very intelligent woman.

I'd sure support her! She's a smart gal! And strong! Her name has been out there for Governor too. I think it would be a smart move...especially since the women of this world spoke SO loudly during this election! Now is the time! We need to take the House too if we want to get anything done!

I think this would be a brilliant idea. Maybe I'll move to whichever she chooses just so I can vote for her. Her part in that wonderful ultrasound parody when Santorum left the campaign was priceless. She's smart, educated, talented and every bit as qualified as any male currently sitting in the Senate. Go for it, Ashley, be number 21. But number 1 in my heart. :^). THIS I would really love to see in 2014.

I think she'd do a good jb since she's very intelligent, caring respected and respectable. Traits that are sorely lacking in most politicians. Especially those from the conservative side of the aisle. Thanks Carrie.

It's a great idea---it would take someone with such appeal to beat McConnell in Kentucky. In the meantime, let's just hope someone more flexible will become the new minority leader of the Senate.

Noted. This is a well-educated, very intelligent young woman. With the way TN & KY went with their votes in this past election, they are prime for a strong, progressive woman to represent them. If I lived there, she'd have my vote.

Go for it, Ashley. We need more strong and smart women like you to run the country.

Heck, maybe if elected, she could get her TV show "Missing" back! I was HOOKED on that show..........LOVED it, and very disappointed when it was cancelled.
