Thanks for posting Carrie. As certainly this being the "news of the day" it is surprizingly "empty" here- huh?
I ran over several articles on the story in my search for a "neutral" coverage, however found none suitable for posting.. I suppose the media will present us with more details and coverage very soon.and likely will start throwing the dirt as well...

How many more of these men have to be caught with their brains in their zippers before they get the message? Heads up fellas- maybe your female biographers should look like Margaret Thatcher - especially if you have no self control!

BTW, The Telegraph felt the need to mention this in their coverage
" He was due to testify next before a Senate committee investigating the attack but officials confirmed last night that his sudden resignation meant he would no longer be asked to appear."

If subpoenaed he will still need to appear.

I was really shocked by this story. I think all of us who served in the US military and specially the US Army were disappointed. I really looked up to the man. Petraeus will testify all right, and he should. Generals McArthur and Eisenhower also had affairs. Not sure where these guys find the time to do this. I think a lot has to do with spending too much time away from their families and the US.

Noted(?) Seems like this is a very tangled web that we may never completely learn the truth about, but I'd sure like to know.

I wonder if it's the affair? I think the affair is just an excuse to get out of testifying.

Terrible. I was pretty surprised. Such a highly respectable (or so it seemed) official caught up in a scandal like this. Unfortunate but I guess not very surprising. I was just surprised it would be him. Thanks Carrie.

Gloria, he can be made to testify, so the affair is irrelevant. So it just must be the current right wing talking point for the weekend.
