In an Associated Press interview on Wednesday, Johnson said he hoped he would be able to work with Baldwin in the Senate -- as soon as he explained the "facts" of the budget to her.

Maybe Baldwin could offer to teach him how to knit. That might give him something useful to do and calm his nerves. Maybe then he would realize that his ideas may not be" the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth".
What an arrogant, patronizing remark that was.

Lovely post Alexandra - sorry the computer won't let me give you another green star yet!

The article says
""Hopefully I can sit down and lay out for her my best understanding of the federal budget because they're simply the facts," he said. "Hopefully she'll agree with what the facts are and work toward common sense solutions."

"I was a double major in college in mathematics and political science, and I served for six years on the House Budget Committee in my first six years in the House," Baldwin responded in an interview with The Huffington Post on Friday.

"And I am very confident that when proposals come before the U.S. Senate, I will be able to evaluate them as to how they benefit or harm middle-class Wisconsinites. A yardstick of 'does it create jobs,' 'does it lower the deficit' and 'does it help grow the middle class' is an important one. I'm quite confident that I have those abilities," she added.

Baldwin has served in Congress since 1999; Johnson took office in 2011. "

Johnson sounds a completely patronising pr*t!! What a gallopingly arrogant vacuous idiot! He really should learn to check his facts first before he opens his mouth and puts his feet right in it! Moron!

PS I care about her care of the people in her constituency, not her private life!

I suspect that Ron Johnson will regret the day he pisses Tammy Baldwin off. Isn't he up for re-election 2014? We probably won't have to listen to his arrogant, STUPID blather after that!

What an arrogant you know what. She probably has a much better understanding of it tha he does for starters. I have the feeling all he knows is his going price to lobbyist.

Ron Johnson is a product of his woman-hating party. He should be pitied, and put in "time-out" until he can actually tell time: It's the 21st Century you Victorian prick!

I don't know whether his comment was intended to be demeaning or insulting but it makes you wonder. Jeez sir didn't you know she was a double math major with all that political experience? Someone didn't do his due diligence or practice his Sun Tzu. Let us hope that bipartisan cooperation prevails for the nation's welfare and prosperity.

perhaps he doesn't know that the budget must start in the House where has has been for a while.....let's hope he was trying to just be helpful, but keep a wary eye out. I tend to agree with Alexandra and Jea.

I just wanted to read something that I read this morning that caught my attention. This is from Market Watch's Rex Nutting. He says, "Of all the falsehoods told about President Obama, the biggest whopper is the one about his reckless spending spree. Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, but it didn't happen. Although there was a big stimulus bill under President Obama, federal spending is rising at its slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s. Even hapless Herbert Hoover managed to increase spending more than Obama has."

That means that the rate of spending -- federal spending increase is lower under President Obama than all of his predecessors since Dwight Eisenhower, including all of his Republican predecessors. That is a fact not often noted in the press and certainly never mentioned by the Republicans.

Debt since Obama took office: $5.1 trillion due to Bush policies;983 billion due to Obama policies.

You would have thought the idiot Repugs would have learned something by the lashing they just received in the election. I wonder what Ron Johnson thinks about rape; I bet we won't have a long wait to find out. I am so happy Tammy Baldwin was elected. Can't wait to see the fireworks.

Thanks Carrie for the link to the article. Sen Baldwin knows more about budgets than Johnson on any given day. He would do well to listen to what Tammy has to say. Read and noted.

Noted. I agree that he's a patronizing schmuck. Doesn't matter, Baldwin has more intelligence in her little finger than he has in his....oh, never mind! Constituents will be so happy with their choice of Baldwin that I believe he will be ousted.

I'm pretty certain that she's far better suited to understand the real facts of budgeting than any teabagger idiot.

All I can say is don't you just love this condescending attitude? She is probably much smarter and more astute than many who have been there for years!

Perhaps she can read the CRS(Congressional Research Service) Report, suppressed by the Repugs in the Senate from public disclosure and Posted on line by the DPCC(Democratic Progressive Caucus) that proves that Tax Cut for the Rich do not create jobs they in fact always result in Job losses. The she can go one to explain to the moron that if one is in Debt and running a deficit you can not end either by reducing your income. You know some simple real world math like $15 Trillion Debt + $7 Trillion Debt DOES NOT EQUAL No Debt+ Jobs.

Lois, you mean she has more intelligence in her little finger than he does in his two heads combined? Absolutely agree, and hope you are right in your prediction also.

Ah Mr. Johnson has apparently not heard the admonition:

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt . -- George Eliot

....which even has a biblical root he should surely iknow.....

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. -- 'Proverbs' 17:28.

Well, Now you can see what Wisconsin is stuck with for 2 miserable years. We are ruined with a republican ruled House and Senate Under Governor Walker, This State is Slaughtering Wolves, with a Trapping law that tells Poachers NOT To Kill them for 8 days, but to torture them, and then they write it down as Incidental Killings, without needing a Wolf tag, so can you imagine what other CRAP is hidden In The AGENDA? There is so much undercover work going on...anyone want to spend the next 2 years just posting the illegal activity from this state? CAUSE THERE IS PLENTY ALREADY. My main team man is out rescuing with capturing things on video to blast a hole into the poachers asses when we can finally get some kind of lawmakers to actually listen,
