Israel accomplished its military goals, but lost badly in the political arena.

Shelly, Hamas would not exist if the Palestinian people had not been so repressed for so many years. Now the Palestinian people and the Israeli people are caught between Hamas and Netanyahu.

The innocent civilians on both sides are the ones suffering. Someone needs to start thinking about them! I have said before, there are no good guys and no bad guys, ONLY WRONG GUYS! May God forgive them all.

@ Shelly P. you have nailed it. Sorry Carrie but Hamas just keeps playing the same lose-lose strategy its predecessors have. So far In 2012 Hamas has lobbed more than 800 rockets into Israel. It remains fundamentally attached to the idea that the existence of a Jewish state in the Middle East, no matter how small is a violation of Islamic law. This claim has been repeated over and over in Palestinian charters, constitutions, and sermons. The most important and enduring steps toward peace will be attitudinal. If Palestinian leaders stop publishing maps that eliminate Israel it would be start. Also, people of goodwill everywhere need to wake up to Israel's predicament. The unthinking and one-sided condemnation of Israel has itself become a significant barrier to peace.

Noted...and I agree 100% with Carrie's comment. Let's see, 2 dead Israelis and exponentially more dead Palestinians. You can tell me how many rockets were fired by each side, but in counting the dead, Israel comes up wrong on this.

HEAR, HERE, Suzanne!!! ..and to me, that picture up above is an Israeli and Palestian,....CHILDREN!!, clining together, saying, "what the hell is wrong with the adults in our lives!!!.....IN WORDS, of children, not the ones I typed...their prayers, their fears and ....their dreams, their futures, the reason they have LIFE and what they will bring to the table of humanity, ..IF ALLOWED!!!...they would bring PEACE!, education and LIFE!!...not hatred, bigotry, let alone, JIHAD in any sense of the word..for Jihad is for Power of a few, NOT wellbeing of Humanity on Planet Earth, 2012 and on!!!..both sides live in terror!!!!!!!!!!!!...and "hate, prejudice, some call "evil", genorates HAMAS!!!!....Hamas hold the Palestinian peoples hostage and distorts just like the Nazi's did..and still do!
This is 2012!..Hamas has evolved to "what it is, now in 2012"...grassroots from the past, ...ARE PAST and no longer exist!....now they are just thugs, holding Peace in hostage...like the Mafia run amouk, in so many other countrys...but the issues are the same...power /riches for a few and damned the people , on their backs,THUGS, DONOT CARE FOR HUMANITY!!!...or the devastation, they leave in the wake..they have no morales or ethics, they just look for the problem and move in like a "disease on an open wound", contort truth and twist and bully!!! they lie and cheat and have no remorse, as they donot care, for humanity ...just use, for illgotten riches..including fame, at the expense of all, throughout the World.
Carrie, this is exactly why you are one of my most cherised Care2 friends!!...WE CARE ABOUT HUMAN LIFE!!!....and as friends, we thrash the truth, to get back to basics, so that we may save LIFE!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rubbish Carrie. Here is Hamas speaking for itself in its charter (constitution).
Hamas Charter
[From Article 13] “… Peace initiatives, so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion….”
[From Article 6] “….. The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinct Palestinian Movement which owes its loyalty to Allah, derives from Islam its way of life and strives to raise the banner of Allah over ever in inch of Palestine. Only under the shadow of Islam could the members of all regions coexist in safety and security for their lives, properties and rights. In the absence of Islam, conflict arises, oppression reigns, corruption is rampant, and struggles and wars prevail….”
Carrie, Hamas = A Palestinian branch of Muslim Brotherhood - exists in many Arab and Islamic countries, even the ones not bordering Israel. Their goal is Islamic Caliphate, and the whole agenda is filled with hate and militancy.
Last thing Muslim Brotherhood wants is well-being of the country population, be it in Gaza, be it elsewhere.
Today IDF fired on a group of Palestinians working ph a field, killing one and wounded 12 people, I have not a trace of doubt in the IDF's PR ability to construct some excuse to justify this provocation.
IDF needs no justification. Whatever they do is accepted by all of the sheeple in this country and the world!
Jelica, where did you pick up this tale? Blaming IDF in tragedies it never caused is a famous trick by Islamists, so I need to ask you to show some reputable source for this story.
Just to clarify: Electronic Intifada won't do, and other hate sites you are using often won't do either.
Read Haaretz, Nov. 23 and 24. Here is my comment from "Israeli dominates the New Middle East". You were commenting there after I posted this comment, but just for you and other lazy readers who think they know everything, I will repeat:
---------------- Saturday November 24, 2012, 6:42 pm ----------------------------
Israel has the strongest army in the middle east and, I believe, the 5th in the world. Yet, they are so afraid of the Palestinians that yesterday they tried to provoke a ceasefire break by shooting on a Palestinians (working in the field - Gaza source!) which resulted with 1 death and 9 injured (or 19, according to other sources).
Also confirmed by Haaretz: Palestinians: One killed, several wounded by IDF fire on Gaza border
Palestinians to UN Security Council: Israel's breach of cease-fire threatens calm
Just to heat up the atmosphere, on Saturday IDF arrests Hamas MP in West Bank, amid dozens of arrests in West Bank after Operation Pillar of Defense.... acting as a true messenger of peace.
--------------------------- end of copied comment ------------------------------------
I do not go to hate sites. If you think that Electronic Intifada is such, show me where they lied about facts. One might not agree with their political stances, but if facts are accurate, and their articles are more about facts then propaganda. they are not a hate site.
Here is something else; about a week ago I've heard from a single source that Hamas and Fatah held negotiations on Nov. 16. Since there were no other reports in the media I could not verify it. Now it seems that Fatah and Hamas have reached some kind of an agreement, because 5 hours ago, Ceylon Daily News published this article: Hamas to free Fatah prisoners after Gaza flareup.
Yes, Jelica, one moron was shot, but he was not working the field, he was attacking Israeli border in a company of similar morons, some whom were armed, at a time when his bosses are at war with Israel.
You know, if you decide to dance on a highway at night, you may be sent flying high. Hamas could of said the kids, don't do idiotic things, protect your health. But Hamas doesn't care, they send stupid teenagers vying for 72 free virgins to get killed, and make some PR from it.
Shame on them.
Lies and more lies, Bob. First, you accused me of fabricating data, then you told that I use propaganda sites. Next, when I gave links to my claim, you tried to present victims as aggressors. This model was set by Goebels: "Say a big lie, and keep repeating it until it sets."
1.) Killed young man was not attacking. He was wearing a Palestinian flag. You claim to know who his bosses are. Then you should know better than to raise false accusations.
2.) It happened on Nov. 23, thus after a ceasefire.
Give me a link to this statement: "he was attacking Israeli border in a company of similar morons, some whom were armed". Oh, islamwatch and the likes won't do.
