A lot of progress has been made since this disease was first identified. We're very fortunate that a world-wide initiative was possible.

Noted. Thanks Carrie. Things are much more advanced these days and HIV is not automatically a death sentence.

Good Post! To end the cause - campaigns must conduct in remote places, so that everyone get awareness. Awareness is the ultimate weapon to end this cause.

Men need to wear condoms! Yeah, I know sometimes women have unprotected sex and then expose their spouse to HIV, but in reality it is usually men having unprotected sex that spreads HIV- and in some really backwards countries, men are told raping a virgin will cure AIDS, so little girls are used as sex slaves...

Christine, you are so right. I posted on another thread some unofficial statistics. There are 25-30 million dead from Aids. There are 33 million living with HIV/Aids and 20-25% of those living are not aware that they are carrying the HIV virus. Condoms and frequent testing strongly advised for those who are in high risk relationships.
