The U.S. Air Force recently mutilated live animals for combat trauma training at Hurlburt Field in Florida. PCRM member William Morris, M.D., a neurosurgeon who served as a U.S. Army doctor for 20 years, filed a legal complaint against the U.S. Air Force.

The US airforce is designed to mutilate people, not animals and we approve of that?

The US airforce mutilates human beings as well as animals. That is what it was designed to do. Isn't that a crime?

Time & again I see the use of pigs for medical "training" which is relevant if you are a veterinarian. But as pigs don't fight in wars I don't see many vets signing up to treat them.

Far more relevant is the use of alternatives for training doctors, and there are many of them, such as Trauma Man. The PCRM is a great organisation to join as they promote the alternatives to animal research. Animal research give fake and misleading information for drug testing. After all, had penicillin been tested on animals it would not have saved the millions of lives that it has done. Thalidomide was animal tested and look what happened with that drug!

Keep animal testing away from doctors and human medicine and leave it where it belongs, in the history books!

These people should be ashamed of themselves. I support our military, but this is where the support ends. Defending our country is no excuse for cruelty to animals,

Somehow Karma will find a way for pig pay back. Unfortunately the price for killing animals and people in warfare is paid by the number of suicides in the military. Someday we will realize people aren't programable killing machines. Perhaps that is why drones are being used more frequently. Who ever pushes the keys from a safe far distance never gets to experience the psychological/moral impact eminating from their keyboard.

How is it that if the average person does something like this, it's animal cruelty and it's a punishable crime, but the military use is justified?
