The Pinocchio Test

We acknowledge that serious financial challenges face Social Security and Medicare as the baby-boom generation begins to retire in full force, putting additional pressure on the federal budget. But we have previously given lawmakers Two Pinocchios for claiming that Medicare was going broke, warning that the facts do not justify such rhetoric.

In this case we are going to bump Graham up to Three Pinocchios. Not only did he repeat the error of treating all of Medicare as one entity, but he did the same with Social Security. Moreover, his reference to Medicaid makes little sense, even if one has very expansive definitions of the words “bankruptcy” and “imminent.”

As i have said in the past, we need to cut the military budget by 50%. Remember, during bushy's 8 years at the helm, the military budget doubled.

Graham is running for the primary in the party of lunatics. If he has to destroy the nation to win that is no problem to him. The media should not enable him, but they can't stop themselves and their ownners don't want them to.

Noted. In fact, the Federal Reserve borrowed billions from the Social Security Trust Fund to pay for Dumbya's 2 wars....and I don't think they've paid all this money back yet. Ah, yes, Jim--those dastardly expensive drones. Seems like The Powers That Be would rather spend money buying them to destroy human lives, while also destroying lives by removing our crucial safety net. Just the sight of Grahams' face makes me want to puke.

Funny, Lois Jordan and I had identical reactions to Graham's face... and to the garbage he spewed.

Funny, he's not worried about the very real potential debt-increasing/bankruptcy-related issues already caused by Republican obstructionism lowering the credit rating of the United States and raising interest payments, or about those related to the wealthy not paying their fair share of taxes...
