It's a good thing I have a box of Kleenex on my desk.

WONDERFUL NEWS, but so sad they had to wait sooooooooo long.

That was a wonderful posting and a beautiful and heartwarming thing to see! It is too bad that they had to wait that long. I wish I could treat them all to dinner at a fancy restaurant to celebrate. Thanks Carrie.

I live in Seattle and I went to a mass wedding reception in the Paramount theater and shared a piece of wedding cake with a LOT of happy couples that I didn't know! They were dressed in TYPICAL "Seattle style", which means ANYthing and EVERYthing from the most formal long gowns, to jeans and a flannel shirt! {Both men, & women, wearing long formal gowns - and, for that matter, tuxedos!}
Was impressed by how many beautifully-behaved KIDS were at the reception - the KIDS were all dressed up in their best party clothes, every one of them!
I neither plan to get married, nor even know anyone who does! but I just HAD to share this MOMENT, this HISTORIC moment and this joy!
I was finally overcome by the loud dance music {this shows my age!} and by a sugar satiation, nothing but SUGAR to eat there and plenty of it - candy, wedding cake and cupcakesI So I went home alone but psyched and happy!!!

If you go to the site below, you can see what a VERY fancy place the Paramount Theater is, architecture-wise! [It dates from an earlier period, when theaters were LAVISH and no expense was spared - and it has been beautifully restored and preserved!]

I went to that site as well as this one - together, they give a VERY good picture of what went on, almost a "You are there" quality.
I recognize some of the couples I saw dancing and celebrating at the Paramount when I was there! and, the table full of candy... I took care to avoid that!
It WAS a VERY cold day - those crazy guys in shorts! - and that is most probably why I didn't stand outside watching the couples, but was happily INSIDE at the Paramount reception.
