Medicare is broken. Medicare spending is out of control. Medicare will go bankrupt in 2024. If we don't act soon, Medicare will bankrupt the entire country. Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong.

Sorry about the title being missing! "The Way to "Save" Medicare Is to Expand It"

Dennis Kucinich advocated Universal-single-payer-Medicare-for-All from the beginning - notice he was "hit" by both RepubliCONs & greedy Democraps & is no longer a Representative after re-districting..:(

ACTUALLY = In 1965 when Medicare & Medicaid were being "scrutinized" = IF ANY member(s) of the Administration had actually read the specifics of each = They would have chosen Medicaid = It covered EVERYONE = ALL CITIZENS = Born or yet to be born!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But = I definitely agree with the article = since that's all we really have (at the moment)
Thanks Carrie = Super and truthful read

What is badly broken is Medicaid and the quarter trillion we spend every year on illegal aliens through various programs. Yesterday a senate (Menendez, NJ) intern was deported as illegal and the good (?) senator said little of note. We need to reform these systems, get rid of Obamacare and replace it with universal health care on the Medicare model.

John, do you have any documentation at all about that quarter trillion figure?

Here's some more reasoned takes on the issue:
http://blog.chron.com/txpotomac/2011/04/study-illegal-immigrants-add-about-1-6-billion-in-taxes-to-texas-economy/
Texas’ taxes collected from illegal immigrants:

Property taxes:$177,814,936
Sales tax: $1,429,479,799
Total: $1,607,294,735

Here's some actual information:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19462758/ns/us_news-gut_check/t/your-questions-experts-answers/

But, because illegal immigrants are not eligible for any welfare programs except emergency medical care, they are actually less “expensive” than low-skilled legal immigrants.
