Disregarding an outpouring of letters from the public, the Gila National Forest has reauthorized livestock grazing on 144,401 acres in several active wolf territories. More than 1,000 cows will be permitted year round on four allotments:

So let's see...the National Forest Service is going to allow cattle to graze on the land designated for wolves? Now let's see what happens when one of the wolves tries to eat one of the cattle...NOT.

Noted. Again, I don't understand why the wolves are being ignored. Why is this animal seemingly so dismissed and disregarded?

There is something wrong with this picture. In the end I think the wolves will suffer.

If they are going to offer the wolves a FREE meal, THEY shouldn't CRY when the wolves accept their offering.

New Mexico's Governor Martinez is no friend to wolves, but fortunately we don't have as many wolf haters here as Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and California. I for one would like to keep it that way and hopefully make life easier for all of our animals.

So, taxpayer money will go to help ranchers, using taxpyers' land, probably wealthy ranchers, and when soomething goes wrong they will raise a fuss about the "awful" wolves, and how "we have to get rid of them." I'm glad that I hardly ever eat red meat.

I just want to make this point about Gov Martinez. Not only is she no friend to wolves, she is no friend to women. She has referred to "forcible rape" and considered requiring those seeking childcare assistance for a child that resulted from so-called "nonforcible" rapes such as date rapes, domestic violence, and incest, to first re-engage with their abusers to seek child support. She later pulled the language amidst pressure from women's groups. I mention this because...remember the last time a woman republican governor who allowed the killing of wolves and was unfriendly to women's rights was talked about on the national scene? Her name was Sarah Palin. Gov Martinez's name is being floated as a potential 2016 pres candidate, and her name was tossed around as a potential 2012 vp nomination which eventually went to Paul Ryan. Those of us who've been signing petitions for years advocating for wolves were among the only ones in the country who knew who Gov Palin was when Sen McCain tapped her to be his running mate in 2008.

No worry about Martinez making a run for the presidency. Too many "illegal" skeletons in her closet.
