President Barack Obama on Sunday said congressional Republicans and their insistence on preventing tax increases for the very wealthy are standing in the way of a deal to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff.

Thanks for posting Carrie.
Will the Republicans ever agree to tax the wealthy?? In my opinion - never- as the wealthy paid their way into office.

A sure sign of Teabag extremism high powered connections (Koch's and Americans for Prosperity). If it were Libs holding up negotiations, the SWAT teams would be bashing skulls.

Forget the tax hikes. Reintroduce Glass-Steagall; shut down the tax loopholes in the Delaware type schemes that allows them and corporations to avoid paying little if no tax at all. Make all income over a certain level taxable at one rate just like everyone else. If a company or individual wants to leave then levy a fair emigrant tax on all holdings and income prior to departure. Put the FED under the control of the US government and its Treasury Dept. That 17 cents on each dollar issued should go into the American taxpayers pockets and not some international fat cat.
The rich tax hike like the fiscal cliff is a red herring designed to get another bailout for the privileged which the American citizen will pay for and to get you to cede more of your individual rights and freedoms. More Delphi programming with your fast food dinner?

Taxes are only one part ... cost control and reckless spending without any easement in sight constitute the bigger portion of this mess -- as will soon become transparent in the new year. With BO in the White House 4 more don't see any improvement down the road. Welcome to the New World Order called AmeriKa.

Obstructionist, unqualified Tea Partiers need to be impeached and expelled. They are NOT working for the people, and have changed the Congress in such a negative way! No other Congress has ever obstructed any President the way these buffoons are doing. Are they Racist, by any chance? GET RID OF THEM so that we can have a functioning government! They do not deserve to work in Congress, and are not educated in politics at all. Why did the ignorant vote them in to begin with?

The absolute and only truth is that the Republicans care ONLY about their wealthy supporters, and the rest of us can go to hell or go bankrupt. Shame on them! They should be charged with Treason.

Raising taxes or not raising taxes Obama's buddies will not have to worry. His Job Czar Jeffery Inmelt GE who's company has not paid taxes, and Google's Schmidt has his money (2 billion) in Bermuda. warren Buffett is still behind and owes billlions.
It's the successful hard working Americans Obama is after.

I have a group and petition that the fiscal cliff is to fall into. Here are links below.

Reshaping the World

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-ridiculous-gas-prices.html

http://www.change.org/petitions/reshape-the-world-to-improve-our-lives

We need more confidence and faith in the petitions and my petition needs 1,000 signatures in total. We should also not be or act selfish towards one another. Let's not be lazy.
