While some prominent haters were booted out of office, there are still plenty of Islamophobes hanging around American politics.

Too bad there isn't a movement to get whackos out of politics.

While I have my own criticisms about muslims in the free world that ignore the evil in the middle east ...I have to say the republicans have their share of those who have a war on women. And then there is Backmann and with all her idiocities....she gets re-elected...amazing.

Personally i dont feel anyone should be judged for their religion but instead be judged by the content of their character its shameful that a politician would openly do such a thing thanks Carrie noted

Noted...thanks Carrie. I'm especially happy that Allen West and Joe Walsh won't be among those to watch anymore. Janice B...with all due respect, there are plenty of Christians, both in the "free world" and abroad, that ignore the evil, both in the "free world" and abroad. I'm really tired of all the Muslim bashing and feel it needs to stop. Our elected officials have the public's attention, and they should be the first to stop making irresponsible and hurtful comments. Their paranoia isn't just crazy, it's dangerous.

Sorry that Republicans are against Tory's and want to balance the budget in this welfare state. Obama doesn't mind being 17 trillion in debt to the Chinese communist. I fought communism with the Marine in Vietnam. Now I see we have succumbed to it here.

The Republicans need to fear themselves instead of those who are of a different religion! Unfortunately, two of the five are from Texas where we claim everything is bigger--even our idiocy!

A French weekly known for publishing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to the ire of conservative Muslims said Sunday it plans to release a comic book biography of Islam’s founder that will be researched and educational.

Satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo has on several occasions depicted Islam’s prophet in an effort to defend free speech and defy the anger of Muslims who believe depicting Mohammed is sacrilegious.

“It is a biography authorized by Islam since it was edited by Muslims,” said Charlie Hebdo’s publisher and the comic’s illustrator, who goes by the name Charb.

“I don’t think higher Muslim minds could find anything inappropriate,” Charb said.

The biography will be published Wednesday and was put together by a Franco-Tunisian researcher known only as Zineb, Charb said.

The publisher said the idea for the comic book came to him in 2006 when a newspaper in Denmark published cartoons of Mohammed, later republished by Charlie Hebdo, drawing angry protests across the Muslim world.

“Before having a laugh about a character, it’s better to know him. As much as we know about the life of Jesus, we know nothing about Mohammed,” Charb said.

In September Charlie Hebdo published cartoons of a naked Mohammed as violent protests were taking place in several countries over a low-budget film made in the United States that insults the prophet.

In 2011 Charlie Hebdo’s offices were hit by a firebomb and its website pirated after publishing an edition titled “Charia Hebdo” featuring several Mohammed cartoons.

Charb, who has received death threats, lives under police protection.

I've no liking for the politicos listed especially Bachmann. Since I've also no liking for fundamentalist supernaturalists (incl. but hardly limited to Mohammedan ones) who've openly wanted to spread supernaturalism into governments in way too many countries, I'm in favor of ferreting them out and fighting that dangerous stupidity. I've a strong preference for doing it honestly though and some pols seem to be spraying the can of Raid in areas where they've no honest evidence the cockroaches actually live.

Political opportunism in the underlying feature of all the politicians, there was little Islamaphobia before 9/11 these people play on the paranoid instincts of many Americans shows they have little in the way of morals or shame.

We need Republican AND Democratic Islamist-bashers. People need to wake up.

BTW, there is no such thing as Islamophobia. The more one knows about Islam, the more rational and justified putting up a defense against it.

Louise D, which 9/11 are you referring to? 9/11 2001 or 9/11 2012? Or both?

Now let's see the Top 5 Woman/Gay/Child/Freedom/Free Speech/Freedom of Religion/Freedom of Conscience/Tolerance Bashing Muslims, though picking only the top 5 would be a very difficult job indeed.

Carrie has never ever condemned any of the daily Islamist atrocities committed around the world from the terrible enslavement/abuse of women, the sexual exploitation of children, the torture and murder of gay people, the ethnic cleansing of all non-Muslims from every Muslim occupied land, the beheading of little Thai Buddhist kids and the murder of peaceful Buddhist monks by Islamists in southern Thailand as they try to establish yet another glorious Sharia State - same for the Philippines et al.

Whose side is this person on? Certainly not the victims of Islam, most of which are Muslims.

What is the equivalent of Muslims who hate non-Muslims? Is it humanophobia? They certainly hate and KILL non-Muslims. Carrie, why do you never turn up on these kinds of news items and criticize and/or condemn their behaviour?

By the way, the rebels who have put the Muslim Brotherhood into power, have been sponsored by Obama. These governments have started oppressing the people there and the conditions under which Christians now live are worse than any apartheid in South Africa. The weapons provided to them are now being used in Africa to kill Christian and were used in the attack in Northern Mali where, yet again, Christians are suffering with no-one caring. I don't see you speaking out Carrie. Nor at the atrocities in Egypt or Syria. The Palestinians as well as the Christians suffer there from the "insurgents". Why are you so silent?

We need to be very careful here. many do not seem to have read the Koran. If you do it will be apparent that Islam has not tolerance for other beliefs. The politically correct dogma leads people not to think it through. "Radical" Islam is being funded by some persons,Nations" with very deep pockets. It must be kept in mind these people are not interested in co existence.

Islam has no toleration for anything unislamic and it is unfortunate that the delusionists cannot see it-- but this is due to wilful blindness and ignorance on their part also the belief that they have superior intellects-- they are legends in their own lunchtime.
Their are dolly the sheep characters besotted with ignorance that they believe passes as intelligence.
all singing from the hymnsheet of nonsense.
They are in fact so smart they dont even need to read the koran or hadiths and are unaware that the koran does not even contain enough information to become a muslim -- yet they pontificate to others
