The GOP Has Taken America Hostage -- Is There a Downside for Them?

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of the fiscal cliff "negotiations" is that there is essentially no downside for Congressional Republicans in holding the country and its economy hostage.

History will look back on them eventually, about the same as it does the Whig Party of the 1800's if they keep this going much fact it might be too late for them to make a come back as it already is. They let the rightwing etremist / teabagger klan etc. take them down along with the extremist groups themselves. Talk about a really stupid bunch of politicans...this group has to be the tops in that my opinion :-) . Don't know how they'll survive without their insider trading and lobbiest bonus checks etc...guess they 'll have to make do with their government welfare perks for the rest of their lives just for being sentors while they were huh.

They are mostly very wealthy people and stupid and uncouth to boot. They've never hear of "Noblesse Oblige'. That notion of nobility kept the reign of feudal aristocracy within some bounds, though the feudal lords were mostly very wealthy, and stupid, so that their vassals mostly had a terrible life.
Their modern equivalents, like the GOP politicians, would have no concept of nobility and what they might think is noble about them is actually narcissistic and arrogant.

Great picture! I'm with Jae A - history will look DOWN on them...with disgust!
Maybe the 12/21/2012 Mayan cataclysm was indeed the demise of the GOP???? Instead of the end of the world, it heralds a new age of enlightenment...which would mean getting ridi of the current GOP/Tea Party...One can only hope!

The Republican party in the 21st Century is now a completely dysfunctional organism without any leaders but a hell of a lot of assholes a bit like Cthulhu without the tentacles and replaced by assholes which is even more horrible they tend to enjoy consuming the souls of mortals, dreaming dark dreams in R'lyeh in their vast crypt outside of time, Haunting the tenebrous depths of the human subconscious with unspeakable horrors, A bit of light BDSM play, Unleashing the eldritch terrors of the Elder Ones upon a terrified and helpless world and Running for public office. So that explains their ethos of total devastation, apocalyptic destruction and the end of life on this planet as we know it.
