This deal is only temporary respite.

The GOP Clown Car Crashes, Again
Under the stress of their incoherence, the Republican caucus is unable to escape one humiliating mess after another. The damage they routinely inflict on the country's economy and future is reaching incalculable levels -- and is almost certain to grow worse when they again hold the debt ceiling hostage next month.

We finally got to hold the republicans hostage. How long do they think they can go against the will of 80% of the people? Fascism is insane. Norquist and his unthought out plan, Rove and the rest are insane.

Really, Billie C. not that I totally understood your comment but the ones you call election buyers are the ones getting screwed by taking a 2% payroll cut. Certainly, the rich are not harmed by any aspect of this nonsensical agreement.

Well, despite the controversy, Bohner got elected as Speaker again....although Pelosi lost by less votes than last time. So, it seems there's a bit of b.s. still happening behind closed doors. Never really changes. Pentagon funding is what they will protect first, despite constituents' cries for much less. And, the Empire continues....
