Sorry Kit. I'll note yours too. I have to say that I am not by nature a violent person, but I really would like to slap that man!

Why does anyone give this fool the publicity he so obviously craves?

Noted. Great advice he gave that boy, eh? How comforted that boy must feel that he contacted the good Reverend. Does he really think that Jesus would think these things? One can understand why some speak so dismissively about Christianity when they hear people like Rev Roberson, who is supposed to be one of the stewards of the religion, say something so derogatory and disrespectful toward women.

I can not believe I used to watch The 700 Club and want so badly to throw a brick at Rev. Robertson when he'd make an UNGODLY comment!! Even his co-star Terry has questioned him about his opinoins. I agree with Thomas: Does he really think that Jesus--the REAL KING of THE WORLD--would really think these things? I'd like to slap him too, Carrie! Thnx for posting!

A comment like his is loathsome coming from anyone, but from a so called "religious leader", it is even worse. What makes him feel that thinking and speaking like he does is in anyway good and kind?

“And the preacher looked at her and he said, ‘Madam, if I were married to you, I’d start to drink too.’”

You would think that "a man of God" would be focused on the beauty of the person, not the appearance. Guess not ! A woman is a sex object & a second class person according to Robertson, who is one of the most revolting spokespersons for his "faith".

Thanks Carrie for the link to the article by Laura Gottesdiener. Mr. Robertson has never been a man of compassion, caring or intelligence. What he needs is a brain, a good basic education and a life, not a half-a** theological piece of paper in a frame on the wall. Read and noted.

What a discerning gentleman that is!
It never occurred to him that the father may have other problems outside of home (including, possibly, an affair" and also, computer games are made to be addictive.
It is not likely to be the mother's fault because she actually feels abandoned by the father.

There is no pretense with this man, he is ignorant,,mean, bigoted and hateful but he has never made any apologies or excuses for his statements or actions so I'm assuming that he is proud of these abominable characteristics which is an even greater testimony to his stupidity.

Considering that Christianity and Catholicism have been co-opted and corrupted is it any wonder we hear such drivel from this kind of person? Of course I think that religion has some very good teachings and every day common sense but for the most part was designed by the priestly class. Where else can you make have a nice lifestyle for doing nothing really? Oh yeah, the second oldest profession outside of prostitution; politics. At least the whores are honest.

Boy, I really had a hard time fully reading this one. Smoke started coming out of my ears. Many have likened statements by this poor-excuse-for-a-human-being akin to a Christian Taliban. Every time he opens his mouth, it just gets worse. Pity the poor women who watch this show with their husbands.....YUK!

could be mom is depressed. Could be Dad isn't just playing computer games, but porn? Or just living in the avatar world of perfection. Both parents could gain by couples counseling to learn to talk to each other again. The answer isn't sex...it is that the Joy and happiness has gone out of the marriage.
Some marriages are just plain over...kaput, some can be saved. Obviously the son is caring about both of them, and everyone needs to sit down, and talk about the distance (aka elephant in the living room).
If Pop is unreceptive, mom wearing pasties or a clown outfit isn't going to get him to "notice"her. Something is wrong and a roll in the hay isn't going to Poof ! make everything hunky dory.
The answer is too simplistic and stupid. Robertson ought to go into the bathroom Bible in hand, his you-know what in the other, and settle down with some of the hot sizzlin sex parts of the good book. maybe after that therapy session, he could offer real advicee!!!!!

I don't know what is worst, the issue, Pat Robertson or this article. Such behavior helps no one and Pat is not going to change... was of time. He will die, sooner than later, and his God will deal with him.

Pat Robertson is a vile apology for a human being - that poor boy who just wanted to help his parents - an early and horrible lesson in being VERY careful who you ask for help or advice!!!

BTW Robertson is as much a real Christian as you and I are able to walk on the moon, unaided by spacecraft!

Once again, Pat Robertson has proven that he is an atavism all the way back to pond scum. He is a serious male chauvinist - but to call him a pig would be cruelty to animals. Felony cruelty to animals.

I seem to remember another old televangelist who conned his viewers to contribute money because if they didn't God was going to call him home on a specific date. I can't remember the outcome but I know a lot of the "faithful" donated money. Then there was the one who told viewers to make a cash donation and then place their hands on the TV set and they would receive a healing or a blessing. The TV set may give you a mild buzz but it ain't going to cure your illness. A healthy diet and some physical and mental exercise will do more good than all the preaching in the world. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink and the same goes for those who still listen to these idiots.

“And the preacher looked at her and he said, ‘Madam, if I were married to you, I’d start to drink too.’”

Well first surprise, I didn't know that old fool was still alive. And if he were my preacher, I most certainly would take up drinking. One of the great misogynists of all time, wonderful legacy. And a perfect example of what I mentioned on another story - he is a proponent of a set of rules made by men that purport to tell the rest of what God wants us to do and God will only talk to Pat and a select few others. A scam that has been running since recorded history to keep the people afraid and paying a handsome salary to fools like Pat. Now, why someone as smart as God obviously must be would talk to a complete buffoon like Pat is beyond my ken. You'd think God would pick someone who would LISTEN instead of talk over Him as Pat surely must since he talks over everyone else. And always has. The entire purpose of religion is to keep some men holding power over all others at the expense of all those others while enjoying the benefit of not actually ever having to work for a living, unless you count making up stories about what God will do to us if we don't listen to Pat and his cronies, work. I don't. Men wrote every religious tract there is and then said God told them to. Yeah, right, well She told me never to listen to a con man in a white collar. And I don't.
