Noted. Interesting read. While I despise the notion of war and violence, I must admit it exists throughout the world. I have no problem with women having equality in all areas...the choice is theirs to make.

Thanks Carrie for the link to the excellent article by Dexter Filkins. In this day and age there are no "safe areas" in a combat zone and women have proven themselves in the pas,t fighting in the Revolutionary War and the American Civil War. About time is was made official. Kudos to Secretary Panetta and the Defense Department. Read and noted.

It will be interesting indeed to see how many women make it into the military elite (Army Rangers, Navy Seals). All I can say is it is about time...kudos to Leon Panetta for this one!
