This morning, the Obama administration took the next step in defining how birth control will be handled in the Affordable Care Act. And it's a big one.

Nobody should stand between a woman and her health, her decisions, and her future.

I don't think any person has the right to tell a woman what she should do in regards to her own body, health or any decisions that regard her future. I resent the fact that anyone should think that they do have the right to interfere.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but that does not mean they should be able to force it onto anyone else.

I find it completely ludicrous that in this day and age, this is even an issue. With the monumental issues that are facing this world today, this should not even rank as a topic of importance.

Take care of our planet, our economy, gun violence, hunger, poverty, violence against women (which should also not be a topic for debate) and healing the extremely divisive nature of this country and just leave women's choices regarding their own bodies alone!

Signed, tweeted and posted to Facebook. I got a letter from my legislative Representative in Austin - wonders never cease. It was directly about my issue - Planned Parenthood and Hairy Perry's move to ban that and all women's services. The response was more than I could hope for, a group of democrats and republicans plan to go behind Perry and get these issues back to the people.

Whether - and when - to bring new life into the world is one of the biggest decisions anyone makes. And it is a decision. A choice. It should be made freely and joyously. No one should be forced to resent their child, and no child should be born to grudging parents. No one should be slave to their own biology.

All signed! Thanks, Carrie.

Signed. On another note, birth control isn't just birth control. Some women have medicial issues that require them to take birth control pills. Birth control pills are good for helping endometriosis for one thing. Not having birth control available would be horrible for people like that. Of course let's not overlook all the other benefits too, but for some, it's mostly about managing their medical issues.

How things have changed! Years ago, it wasn't uncommon for a potential employer to ask a woman, during the interview process, if she intended to become pregnant. They didn't want to hire and train a woman, only to have her go out on maternity leave. Things improved over the years, but now they've taken another ugly turn. Ironically enough, some employers don't want to have to pay for contraception on the basis of religious objections --even though they provide medical insurance for that employee. Irony, hypocrisy, misogyny --all courtesy of the Republicans who cater to the religious right. Who are these women who vote for them? Do they like having their decisions made for them? Do they enjoy living under some man's thumb?

Gladly signed and noted. Thanks for posting this, Carrie!

Susanne, I wish I could answer your question about the women who vote for these idiot republicans, but I can't. What I can say is that by reading some of the comments on various threads, I have to believe that many of these women are hypocrites ~ just like those republicans they voted for.

Great comment Tamara. Us women need to stand our ground about our rights.

I want to know when the 60 days started and ends. I also want to know how many people have already signed this. There is nothing on any of the websites. I tried 'contact us' online, no email addresses. I will try to call tomorrow. Help would be appreciated.
