Subway Tests New Fritos-Stuffed Crunchy Chicken Enchilada Melt, Apparently Gives Up on Life

For years, Subway has been touted as a savior for mildly health conscious cubicle-dwellers everywhere, tired of McDonald's but still not quite willing to pay the premium to eat Veggie Grill or Panera Bread every day.

They could put anything or nothing on it, and I still couldn't eat it - true wheat allergy.

My son was telling me about this the other day, and I thought he was joking.

I'll bet there's just more money to be made selling garbage food than healthy food. Not that Subway's menu is really that healthy, I'm just saying.

Hate these places that sell no vegetarian foods. All they sell is food that is fatty and greased. Blah.

I thought Subway was better this. It doesn't sound like a Subway option.

The link doesn't work for me. But, I must say that this particular sandwich doesn't seem to be available at any of the Subways where I live. My favorite is still the Veggie Delight.

Okay, if the wheat, and the contamination of the veggies by hands dipped in the meats were not enough, and then all the GMO ingredients... they do this?

No thanks.

Oddly, there seems to be Subway all over the world. Not quite as ubiquitous as McD's & BK but certainly there. In London though there seems to be a resurgence of healthier options. It's booming.

Portland is still the place to be for great food options though.

My family owned and operated a deli for 19 years. In the last 2, a Subway opened. At first my parents we a little worried, but that soon passed. Subway is a miserable product, and has been from its inception. Anybody can lose weight from a balanced sandwich...not the pre-cut, meats they serve out.
I guess Subway is hurting...I'm not surprised.

I have never like Subway and have often wondered why so many flock there. If you want a sandwich, buy your own ingredients and make one!

Don't kid yourself. Subway is a fast food place that although not as unhealthy as Micky Dees; it still isn't good for you. You're right Carrie it is cheaper to make your own sandwich and you can control the ingredients.

At first I thought this was a satire story... Apparently Subway really is doing this? I have not yet seen this at local Subways. Maybe just in the U.S.?
