Makes me want to grab my dancing shoes. Though this is one law even lawless Perry couldn't avoid, the Texas constitution prohibits a third term. Honestly, this guy has considered himself king of Texas since he took over Bush's unfinished term in 2000.

My son and daughter- in- law feel the same way Kit.

This is kind of bittersweet like Michele Bachman's "retirement" - I feel really good about Wendy Davis defeating Perry. But someone else? Depends who it is. Keep praying!

Hopefully he'll get lost in a deep fog somewhere---never to be heard or seen from again! Thx Carrie

I think he's been lost in a fog for years~maybe he can disappear in it now.

He's not running because he knows he screwed himself & he's going to bide his time & then, try to run for President in 2016

There is a good and merciful God. Only problem is that all the idiots in central Texas who want to secede from the Union will vote in some other moron to run our state. I told my husband I'm ready to move 8 miles south to Mexico. I'll take my chances with the drug cartels. They're immoral, but don't hide behind the cloak of Christianity. They bully, lie, cheat, steal, kill people--overtly--instead of in a round-about sneaky way the Republicans in Texas do. I'd rather have an up-front thug than the these holier-than-thou hypocrites.

I prayed that he would grow an IQ, but my prayers remain unanswered.

Oh pay not attention to that man behind the curtain Kit. Maybe Mr. Perry can pray for a brain that isn't addled by two thousand year old thinking.

Pray? What about Plot?
Actually, praying has such a poor track record, is so utterly useless, (except that it gives people a sense of comfort) that perhaps that is the best avenue.

Or, more cynically: The statement that he is going to pray, is another pandering to the blindly following religious sheep, just like Bush's "I saw his soul, AND IT WAS GOOD." Emphasis is mine, regarding his comment about the always marvelous Mr. Putin. "And it was good," code for "Vote for me, after all, I'm a man of God, and anything I do will only be according to His dictates; to which I have a direct line." And they follow! What horsecrap!!

I...prey....he finds a deep enough hole in the earth to crawl into and hide.....never to be seen or heard from again.....yeah, I know.....I'm dreamin....but hey......we only see Dumba$$ Dubya when he feels safe and Laura drags him out into the open for a few moments....then back to the Batsh** Crazy Batcave (my apologies to all species of real bats) before the Hague Crew can arrest him....maybe we could get that lucky with Der Fuhrer Perry.

He's not a governor, he's a dick-tater in his own feeble lil mind.

So, he can't actually run again anyway, Kit? Makes this announcement a little lame, huh? But before he leaves he wants to make sure that special little granddaughter of his will not have control of her own body. What a special breed of grandfather he is. And not in a good way...

Come on Texas, had enough? Please vote for some sanity next time around.

Nope Gene, he can not run again, it would be unconstitutional in Texas, and to change the constitution in Texas it must be on the ballot.

Well, I pray his future plans include permanent retirement from any public office!

I'm confused.. guess Kit meant to say a 4th term? But even 3 are 3 too many for his kind, sing halleluja when he's gone. And I hope the boldhead idiot in FL will follow him soon.
As Gene said, what sense does it make for him to "annonce" that he cannot run ?
Thx Carrie

I was shocked and surprised that Perry had a wife and children, even a grandchild.

Let him go out there into the world and waste his money trying to get the nomination to represent the
g o p puke party. Perry was rejected once before by the pukes and he was also rejected by the people
of USA.

People in US will know of his dismal record as Governor of Teaxass. Perry also suffers from and
has foot-in-the-mouth disease or is it really from a lack of intelligence.

Ty, Carrie.
