A Low-Tech Mosquito Deterrent

Over the Fourth of July holiday, my wife and I joined some friends for a barbecue in their backyard. The guests were lively and the space was lovely -- grassy and open but shady and surrounded by lots of shrubs and trees.

Doubt it will be as effectinve as comercial repelent but certainly your are gooing to have less bites if there are lots of hungry mosquitous if there is some wind ! (also these comercial repelent are very detrimental to health and contain a lot of nasties in them! )

I think there is something to this. At the shore if there is an east wind we get no flying pests but a west wind they will be all over you.

I look forward to hearing results from our Care2 friends who live in states where the mosquito is jokingly referred to as "the State bird." This certainly sounds sensible and reasonably eco friendly (certainly better then repellents - which for me never worked anyway).
