I don't know about the Catholic Church, but, one would never enter a temple in shorts. A short sleeves, and no tie, yes as far as Conservative temples go. I can't speak for all, but, this is the minimun in attire in this this weather..

I'm not sure God cares what we wear as long as we are covered to some degree of modesty.

In my Parish, we can wear what we want as long as we don't reveal too much, but women usually wear some sort of cocktail dress to Mass... so, yes... there are exposed shoulders and toes peeping, almost all the time...

I personally think it is not what we wear, but what's inside that counts for God...

Humans are just built to criticize other people's apparel, often for no other reason than to build themselves up in their own minds. I am old enough to remember arguments that women shouldn'r wear pants "because they look so awful." Hey, if it bothers you, don't look.

A church also used to be a place of sanctuary, somewhere you could go to escape being killed. Would you turn away a woman who had just escaped a rapist abductor and was nude and bleeding?

God does not care what we are wearing. We are all the same. Unfortunately this is not the case when one wants to enter a church.

This subject is good for any religion. The extremely religious Jews force women to hide their bodies and hair and to look the least appetizing as possible. Like I said before, religion and its rules forces people into a mold which is easier to control for the ones in power and those who have the money...thanks Carrie.

If you attend a Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian church, don't go nekked! ;-)

Stay home or go to the park to say a few prayers. Time with G-d is real communion.

I've been to church only once in my life time, but people shouldn't be in shorts and casual clothes in church, they should dress up.

If God objected to people wearing comfortable summer clothing to church, he wouldn't have made it so hot. It's difficult to focus on worshiping when you can't breathe.

Toss off the rusty, moth eaten clothes of tradition, ritual, ...religiosity in all its expectations;
Jesus said "Come unto me all who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. ALL....As you are!.

Laura Saxon stated: "'I've been to church only once in my life time, but people shouldn't be in shorts and casual clothes in church, they should dress up."

If you've only been to church once in your entire lifetime why should you have such a strong opinion on what they should wear or not wear. Why would you Care?

WE are the ones hava hard time with nakedness ... not our Creator......God sees the heart....
.. Remember the one who said..'If I may just touch the hem of HIS Garment"... there is a time coming when all the pretentions of man will be overturned .. as were the tables of the money changers....GOD IS LOVE.
.. DEEP cries out unto deep.... Casting ALL your cares upon HIM ...for HE careth for you.
