On Monday, the Agriculture Department announced that it would formally "stay" a new rule that requires animal "exhibitors" to write disaster plans. The rule applied even to exhibitors as small-time as Marty Hahne, a magician in Missouri with one rabbit.

You know, when I read the summary, I thought, "I'll bet the guy with the rabbit actually has a disaster plan, and it's the ones with many, many animals, who really need a plan, who are drigging their feet." Gee.

I agree Joanne. It's the people who make money exploiting animals who will leave them behind to fend for themselves and possibly die. After all, they are expendable right? So, so wrong!

Sadly noted. USDA doesn't care otherwise it would have had all it's paperwork done on time. Wonder who told them not to hurry?? Joanne is right - the guy with the rabbit has his plan done.

Sad a government agency that does not care for animals which is one of its many functions. It does not work for the people only those who seek to profit and exploit animals. They should called out and made to legitimize this and many of there feet dragging and look the other way actions

Animals are innocent creatures that we are using, as usual, so a plan for their safety must be done soon. Protect the animals.
