Attorneys for the plaintiffs said the "potentially invalid injunction" against the two equine businesses has "dramatic financial implications" for the animal-welfare groups because it led to a federal magistrate requiring them to put up a bond of $495,000

Noted Carrie thanks. The auction took place yesterday, I read on Twitter that 200 horses were bought up to meet their demise and another 149 were taken over by advocacy. The problem was that we were focused on one company that was about to open and while we had that wrapped up in court they backed down, but there were two others apparently waiting silently in the wings. So sad.

I am not on Facebook, and maybe Carrie has already posted this link, but one of the commenters on the site states:
There is a brand new Facebook page dedicated to consolidating all of the anti-horse slaughter petitions into one place, so you no longer have to go looking for them all!

Sounds like a lot more "double talk" and little that the HSUS gets involved in can be taken as being in the best interests of the animals, either. They used to be a trusted organization, but in recent years, have been known to include a lot of internal corruption and misuse of donated money.

Ruth S, if "Humans are the most evil creatures on this planet! ", where does that put you? What does this belief have to do with the topic, anyway?
