Salmonella was confirmed in a number of people hospitalized earlier this month after consuming a traditional Ecuadorean dish containing guinea pig at a Minneapolis street fair.

In some countries and cultures guinea pigs are considered a delicacy and are eaten regularly. Fortunately we are not one of those countries or cultures!

Not certain about guinea pigs, but I have no plans to go to Minneapolis.
