Thank you for the news. Assad is just evil. I heard that 400 children died as a result of the chemical weapons. They even bombed a school with the chemicals.

Noted. One reason why I think children should not be allowed FB accounts. What kind of a world will it be with Leaders having children believing that they are good. Sorry kids, your Father, Uncle, etc if an evil and sadistic man!

Noted. The word is now that Obama is taking this to Congress to discuss beginning Sept. 9th. That is a good start. Since Great Britain just voted to stay out of this mess, we should, too. Have let my Congress critters know that we should not attack Syria in any way, shape or form....at any time. My tax dollars need to be spent within the U.S.....not another war. This is just another giveaway to the military-industrial-corporate-complex. The Dow Jones dropped this week, and they want to pick it back up. Not with American treasure.

I really can't believe that bombing a country in response to a faction of itself having inflicted such damage upon itself would progress.

I'm sorry, but I can't believe for a moment this is a post by the 11-year-old son of Assad. The article itself expresses doubt about this Assad being the son: "For example, the owner of the account wrote that he was a graduate of Oxford University and a player for a Barcelona soccer team, neither of which would be likely to appear on the résumé of an 11-year-old boy in Damascus." And a Syrian child of 11 couldn't possibly write in this adult style, not even if his first language was English.

Most of it seems to stem from the likes by other children and grandchildren of senior figures within the regime. They might have believed the account to be legit, but FaceBook also has been proven hackable, and a list of likes is easily compiled. And most text very conveniently in English too.

Whether this is a hoax or true, the attitude of the leading class in Syria seems to be much the same of those in Libya and Iraq when they are about to topple. Sons of Gadafi and Saddam showed the same defiance in videos and FB. The question remains if they really believe(d) heir own press releases or if it was (is) just another way to keep up morale among the last loyalists.

I feel bad for the Syrians as they are suffering greatly. At some point though America needs to stay home. the last time we entered a situation it was a disaster started by bush; now Obama is considering going to Syria to attack. It's time that women started taking charge because really the men are not doing so well fixing anything. No offense to those men who are not war mongers, etc. but these problems are always stated by men.

I am disgusted when politicians try to get votes or impress people by using children.
The US should stay out of Syria. Syrian people have enough trouble they don't need any more. If, the US should have done this immediately, not now.

Agree with Lona - this sounds like an adult trying to be an 11-yr-old. It doesn't fit with how a child that old thinks...even if Syrian. Either an adult is playing games, or an adult is trying to egg on America.

This is not a post on FB by a child. I don't believe it for a second.
I agree with Marie T and GGma Sheila D/Lona.

The Facebook post appears to me to be written by someone with more maturity and writing ability than most 11-year-olds would possess. I'd say it's likely it was written by someone else, whoever that might be.

This article is doubtful at best but, if they require a fight so bad, they can shove their head up their butt and fight for air...

so sad....I wish they read or believed in the Bible. it says clearly Damascus will become a heinous ruin. Whether they like it or not. The city will be annihilated. The oldest city that has never been deleted from the map before. It will be as the end is coming....and Jesus will return. it is just one of the many prophecies that are waiting to be fulfilled. THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END.

Well educated 11 year olds are capable of the writing on that post. That being said ~ I can't imagine his father allowing him to make such a public post ~ If for no other reason than the safety of his son.
